Well guys, I will not be around this week coming up. My surgery (hysterectomy) is Monday morning at 10 am. I will hopefully be getting released from the hospital on Wednesday, but I've been told that I'm really not going to be up to sitting at the computer for a few days.
Here's to hoping that we have a good soap week, I'll be watching most of the week. I hope that everyone has a great week, oh and I hope that Jessica gets to do her own visit to the hospital for a few days!
I'm not stressed about the surgery.... Maybe a tiny bit nervous, but heck that's normal. Today is my mega cleaning day. I cleaned the rugs yesterday, and today is set aside for scouring every other surface in the house. Yesterday was spent at the hairdressers, then getting my nails done, including a pedicure. I have done mega shopping, and anything that weighs over two pounds, and will not spoil that I many need for the next six weeks is already in the house. I'm not going to be able to life anything, and my daughter has to return to college a the Sunday after my surgery.
I purchased some doggie stairs for Dutchess, my 16-year-old dachaund. She can't jump up to the couch, or the bed any longer. My daughter has the task of teaching that old dog new tricks, because she will not go near the things, even with treats placed on every step. I tried putting treats on each step, but all that happened was that the cat has decided to tag team with Dutchess, and she swats the treat down to the dog. LOL, only in my house....
Well we know that you will be fine, but you should have your daughter pop in here for us so that we know everything went ok. And I too hope that Jessica makes it to the doctors as well. make sure you bring your comfortable jammies to the hospital for when they are done. Be like all the patients on soaps and be stylish while you recover. And dont forget the slippers. Hospital floors are cold....
Anyways, the best of luck, not that you will need it. But take it anyways... Here are your get well flowers
I bought some of the cutest winter pj's yesterday. They were having a great clearance sale at Macy's. They're fleece and satin. The best part is that they don't have any goofy designs on them. They were orriginally $48.00, and I snagged them for $15.00 each. I bought three pairs. I've also stocked up on casual stuff for around the house for my first few weeks of recovery. I purchased some great pj bottoms with drawstring's, so that nothing rubs against my stomach.
I'm in the final phase of severe house cleaning. I did the rugs yesterday, and my last load of curtains is in the washer right now. I'm planning on having my last cigarette tomorrow morning at 5 am, and then not ever having another, so I'm focusing on getting everything cleaned and fresh for when I return home.
Thanks for the well wish, I'll be so glad when it's over. What an insane two weeks it has been since I first found out that I may need surgery. Thank goodness I didn't have it dragged out, I don't have time to become neruotic about it!
Tess, you truly are a saint to even be thinking aobut me while you are going in for your surgery, but then that's the Tess we know and love! I am so confident you will do well with your surgery, and it would be great to have our little one this coming week. Today is the hubby's b-day and it would make him one very happy camper. I wish we were closer to you so we could bring you some goodies, but I'm sure you will be pampered quite a bit by your loved ones.
Good luck with teaching the dog the new tricks. That's always so much fun lol.
And if you really miss us, most hospitals offer internet service.... ha ha
OMG, I can just imagine the types of posts that I'd be making! I'll be on some serious drugs for the first days, and a morphine pump right after surgery. I'd sound like Spencer in his looney room!
Eh just wait, I am getting my laptop probably this week, and going wireless from the hospital to do my homework and stuff. Lol, this'll be fun, all epiduraled and doing homework.

I can't wait to get the posts from you two! Why don't we all get drunk and post!
Good Luck, Tess! Everything will be fine by tomorrow this time, so try to drop us all a line and let us know how you're feeling. And Jess, you're in my thoughts as well. Keep in touch gals, ans we'll party when all has settled dwon. My flu is on the wane, but I'm still wobbly and tire very easily. I'm going to try to post a day ahead for Y&R today at 11:30 EST, and will kewep at it until I conk.
I swear that we are the walking wounded around here!
KaeEll, I'm SO glad to see you back on the board. We were all really worried about you!
Tess, it's all going to be just fine. In fact, you're probably being wheeled into recovery as I type this... Just keep that morphine going, and send us a post about fifteen minutes after you've "pumped". Just for laughs!
