Hey, I know i t's more than 20 minutes away, but I have a quick errand, so I thought I'd begin and whoever is around can get the thing going. I'll be back in a little while.
I got back in time to see jessica get caught by Miles. She was in his hotel room snooping around with her tape recorder noting her observations.
Then there was a bit with Antonio and Nash, but I missed it when the phone rang. I was probably just more establisment of the friendship between the two guys, adding to the angst and drama of Jess and Nash falling in love. RME's.
Why the hell is Nora in Marty's office? She seems to have a bad cold. Nora asks Marty who killed Spencer Truman.
UGH - Vincent and Natalie again discussing her bad deed and how she's afraid it'll cause her to lose John. Why can't we have RJ insteada of this twerp? John sees Nat talking to Vincent, gives her a look. I have no idea whether or not he was supposed to have overheard her telling Vincent that she did something really awful, but it looks like he's already figured it out for himself.
Nash and Antonio discuss how Jess is different and does things out of the blue, like the job, for example, notes Antonio.
Jess is a little shocked when Miles shows him the pic of himself pre-Spencer's miracle. She thanks him for not calling the cops on her, and he tries to skedaddle off but Jess stops him to adjust his shirt and helps him with his jacket. He' like a little kid! He says he knows she thinks he's hiding something but "clear and sweet is my soul, and clear and sweet is not my soul", or something akin to that.
Miles and Rex meet, chat about his career. Rex is all gaga about meeting the celebrity and takes a pic of Miles with Adriana.
Nora tells Marty she's under a lot of pressure in the Truman case and she doesn't approve of Bo putting John on the case. Marty tells Nora that Blair lashed out at her again. Nora makes excuses for her.
Nat cringes when she sees John with the CSU woman. Vince notices it, asks what that was all about. Nat says she (CSU woman) could be the end of her.
Nora and Marty in more of a friendly chat about Matthew and how he willed her to wake up. Marty dispenses advice to Nora - some drivel I didn't catch.
Vince has it figured out tHat the CSU person has something on Nat and thinks she should tell him exactly what's going on. John asks CSU for a complete list of all the people present at the crime scene, which she does. She goes on to tell John that Nat was in the crime scene room kneeling over Truman's body, asks if that tells him what he needed. Yep, it does.
Miles knocks on John's door, asks what's happening with the Truman murder case. John's short with him. Miles suggests that John might have a clouded perspective in the case. John asks him to close the door on his way out.
Nat worries aloud to Vincent about what's going on in John's office, so she decides to go in there to find out for herself.
Okay, Marty's advice to Nora was to watch hr back, keep her guard up. Whatever. Nora gets a call from Matthew's school - he has a fever, so she's on her way to pick him up, says it's Marianne's day off so she'll just stay home with him all afternoon.
A throw-away Rex and Adrianna scene ends with smooches.
Nora sends Matthew upstairs with cold meds which may cause drowsiness. The arsonist sets fire to her house.
Nat's in John's office - wants to talk to him about something really important that she tried to tell him a while ago. He tells her he knows she tampered with evidence at the crime scene. Can she give him one reason why he shouldn't have her locked up right now?
Nora's asleep in the living room as a huge fire rages outside.
Nash runs into Jess at the diner. She hasn't even come up with a lead sentence yet for the Miles article. Then she tells him about the strange line he said to her about "clear and sweet is my soul, clear and sweet is all that is not my soul". She can't figure him out, writes that Miles seems to enjoy being an enigma.
Nora's still aleep as the smoke detector goes off wakening her. She sees the extent of the huge fire, screams for Matthew, grabs an extinguisher, then is thrown back to the floor by an explosion. Matthew is trapped on the staircase (well, not really, but he's just standing there calling for his mom).
I missed the previews when the phone rang - I can get them at 5 pm if I'm home on time.
