My son and High School

my oldest is getting ready for HS - we went last night for a presentation and info on extra curricular. I love all the clubs. wish I could go too

I'd like him to do newspaper

but he wants tennis, computer club and student council

we also looked into German club (he wants to take German) and Key Club (charity work)

Frisbee club looked like the partiers to me!

Also there was yearbook and drama, but he wasn't interested in those

As long as we balance some cool stuff with education!

HS is so much better than middle school ~~~ AKA the three lowest circles of hell lol.

friendhips will shift....interests will shift. the various clubs & extra curricula add so much to their experiences & open them up to new friendships.

i hope he loves it!!!

It really is such a turning point in youth, going from all that younger stuff, to being in with the older kids.

My daughter mixed in some sports with her academics and clubs. She was on the swimming team, as a diver, and on the golf team. If memory serves me correctly she was also in the Computer Club and Year Book Club, along with being on some committees for social events.

SADD can be a great organization for high school kids to get into also. I'm sure that he'll try for that National Honor Society group also!

He's going to try Tennis, I have to look in to a one day "camp" for that. And I'm pretty sure he'll get the National Honor Society, I think the Key Club will help with that. They do community service hours.

I'm more excited than he is though!

I was thinking I should get him some German tapes for over the Summer so he can get an idea of what he'll be learning!
