That horrible flu bug I had for almost 7 weeks dropped me a dress size, although I really wouldn't recommend it. Tess seems to have a secret with her new gluten-free diet. I'm not sure of the details, but I'm sure she'll post them again for us.
motivation is where my problem is...I have problems exercising now with my new job cause I get too tired at the end of the day...I'm gonna try going before work, maybe next week...
Going gluetin free for me had 20 pounds melt off. I actually consumed many more calories than when I was consuming gluetin, and I actually was eating healthier.
The trick to it is, do not eat anything with flour in it. No bread, or pasta. I also really paid attention to labels on food, and tended to migrate to foods that were organic, and chemical free.
Trader Joe's sells a frozen organic brown rice, that after two minutes in the microwave is GREAT! I would mix the rice with butter and broccoli, and it was yummy.
For breakfast I would have an omlette, either sausage and cheese, or ham and cheese. I don't like veggies in an omlete. I would have a side of home fries with it.
All types of potatoes are good!!!!
I purchase tons of frozen veggies, with different butter and cheese sauces.
For my meats, I picked up a George Foreman grill, and I love it. Boneless chicken breast, boneless pork chops and burgers cook up in around 10 minutes. The fat drips off, and the meat is very tender.
Oh, I love bacon, and I fry that up on my GF grill also, it's crisp and there is no splattering grease, and the grease basically runs off in the grill. My daughter grills veggies in hers, I'm not a fan of grilled veggies, but they are nice and healthy.
One thing to watch out for hidden gluetin in is salad dressings and sauces. Read the labels, and go the organic route!
My last ten pounds came off after my surgery. I don't think that they removed 10 pounds from me, but off it came. I ate ice cream every night, I actually think I lived off of it for a few weeks, I swear the anesthesia goofed up my taste buds.
Oh, gluetin free, does not exclude ice cream and chocolate!
I whined the first few weeks, about my bread and pasta, but once I found other easy good food, it was very easy. The best part was all my GI problems went away. Especially once I realized that I was not gaining weight with the increased calorie intake. Totally bizzare, but it works, and the pounds melt off. Oh, I also have it in my head that I now look for food that is trans fat free, there are more and more of those every day.
Before I went on my ice cream every night binge I was losing about two to three pounds a week, that's not organic, and I'm not giving it up.
I also gave up drinking my crystal light at lunch time, and went to water, and water at home, exculding my coffee. Once I really started reading those labels, I basically went to water.
Oh, I don't touch artificial sweeteners, they can really have some nasty side effects, including depression. I like the energy that sugar gives me. If I'm dragging in the afternoon, I have a coke.
That's it. Oh, did I mention that I consider actually attempting to go to a gym to exercise a form of torture? I am considering it for the potential social aspects though..... There's a new one in my town called Midlife Fitness, and it's not a fashion show.
I picked up tapioca and rice flour, and made cookies with that, when I had my cookie cravings.
