i've read of two abc actresses that are supposedly in the running for the recast of brenda.
1. rebecca budig 2. gina tognoni
of these two who would be your choice?
i'm not at all excited about brenda being back in port chuck but of these two i'd much prefer gina. i like rebecca just fine ~~~ a lot in fact, but i just like gina better for this particular role.

i think i could actually see Rebecca pull off Brenda more actually. And Brenda was always my favorite so I look forward to seeing her stir things up a bit
If I had to pick a recast role for Gina, I'd pick her as Greenlee on AMC. I would like to see them leave Brenda for Vanessa. I think it would be great if they had her return, with Jax's child in tow, imagine if she foundout that she was pregnant after Jax ditched her at the alter...... yummy!
since las vegas has been picked up for a fifth season....& ended the season w/a fabulous sam cliffhanger it's highly unlikely that VM will be back.
i just think gna would bring a maturity to brenda that's always been lacking. no talk of gina heading for pine valley....a possible return to OLTL tho.
the recast seems inevitable since there is a new barrett in town. that's why there is all this speculation.

I guess she kind of was a pain in the ass...but her paired with either Sonny or Jax was my favorite couple ever..Though I have warmed up a lot to Sonny and Carly so I would prefer Brenda back with Jax. They were a hot couple
I hardly got to see any Brenda as I missed her totally the first time around but loved her the second time around. I think i'm in the percentage who only want Vanessa. I don't think anyone else could be Brenda to me.
i've always viewed the brenda character as a relationship spoiler. i think VM coming back would just be more of the same. gina IMO would be able to bring more depth to brenda.
& yes, EB, she was a royal PITA!

A little tidbit for you General Hospital fans out there. Seems the show is thisclose to bringing back Brenda (recast or not). They are setting it up as we speak with Jax and Carly getting married in May. Brenda will steal Sonny's heart yet again while someone else in town gets the shock of their lives. Stay tuned kiddies

You know what, Vanessa Marcil has bypassed soap stardom at this point, unfortunately we're going to have to accept the writers want Brenda and we aren't going to get the originator back. Either actress can handle the role because they've handle big time roles in the past. So all this bitchy and whining about a Brenda recast is pretty moot. And besides, this is very likely going to turn out to be the same crap I saw when Laura got to be Carly. We don't want it, blah blah blah. Turns out she wasn't so bad. Some people just get upset too easily.
