sadly a lot of kids have cell phones now, even sadder is that when my child is that age I can see us getting ahold of her. And I think it actually makes sense to call on the cell phone to see if they are home, cause what if they are not home, it saves time having to call the house phone, and then the cell phone too...

If a parent has to call a teen to learn of their whereabouts, chances are the kid is going to lie if they're not where they said they'd be. Calling the cell number first was stupid. Parents have to be a few steps ahead of the kids, and using a mobile number to verify the kid's location is pointless, whereas calling the home land line would be proof positive one way or another.

Once again, KaeEll, I am with you on this!

The other problem, as my husband I discovered on a very frantic New Year's Eve/early New Year's Day morning, cell phone batteries can die, and cell phones also don't always work in certain locations.

The kid's alive, but was very nearly boiled in oil once she got home! The thing that terrified us most is that she's always very reliable, and keeps in touch. Not being able to reach her in any way, shape, or form tipped us to the point of panic...

It was something that was going thru my head too. Also if the parents thought the kids were in Llanview and then there they were on the mountain, why weren't they a little concerned. If I were Blair and Marty I wouldn't definitely think Starr an cole were going to hook up and rush back home...

LOL yeah I'm probably going to implant gps chips in my kids, otherwise I'm screwed especially with my daughter. I can already see that she inherited mommy's brains and daddy's affinity for trouble.

ok, so I havent actually been watching the show until today so I wasnt quite sure what we were all talking about. SO I totally agree with you guys that she should have called the house. She should have called whoever was "looking" after Starr too. You cant trust teenagers

once kids start heading out on their own w/friends & activities they do need a cell. however, you don't check to see if your little darling is home by calling their cell rofl.
