i'm asking about this here rather on just the AMC forum b/c i think just about everyone is aware of what has been publisized about the whole thing.
okay i know now that mc t is being replaced everyone is in a flap about cady's possible return. she's blogged about it, etc., etc., etc. i have some theories ~~~ which may be totally off base but i feel compelled to share w/you kind souls.
first, it was not mc tavish's decision to not negotiate a new contract w/cady. it was frons & the producer. i believe mct's comments about running out of dixie story were dictated by those above her. we all know how they have to keep w/the party line. it will not be the decision of the new HW to bring cady back.
can anyone remember why cady left AMC the first time?? for some reason her being disgruntled is ringing in the back of my mind....unhappy w/her SLs then as well. then she did not stay long on the soap she went too. i know she announded she wanted a break from soaps & then ended up on Y&R (do i have it right?) w/in weeks. made no logical sense back then to say the least.
she didn't stay long on Y&R right? again, unhappy w/something or other.
now she is saying that she would consider coming back to AMC if they made the offer. okaaaaaay. why would they make that offer since they FIRED you? do you really think she is sincere about the possiblility of coming back. OR do you think she might be trying to placate her fans & make TPTB at AMC/ABC look worse to the fans?
i remember raven posting about a big blow up on AMC set....shortly after that cady was released.
every time i read something she says or just the usual stuff about her i get the feeling cady is actually putting her own spin on things. in fact i think she's spinning like a manic ballerina.
thoughts anyone?
oh, & don't get me wrong. i loved dixie. i had the great fortune of meeting cady early in her career & she was wonderful.

no she went to As the World Turns. The same soap that Roger Howarth went too. She actually had a good role on that show, but I dont watch the show so I dont know the story of why she left.
I was very upset when Cady left AMC this last time, Not sure all the details on why she left before, I think she just wanted something different for a change. I'd like her to come back, but how would they pull that off, she's already faked her death. But I wanted Her and Tad to be reunited and have their daughter.
well i did say i wasn't sure which other soap she went to lol.
the first time she left AMC she said she wanted to do something different from soaps & then in the blink of an eye she turned up on ATWT. people questioned the genuineness of her reasons for leaving amc at the time.
i'm just getting a strong feeling that she's using the new HW stuff to spin herself in the fan's favor. i'm convinced things went on behind the scenes that we will NEVER learn about. i guess i'm saying i don't buy cady's innocent & light take on the situation.
....but that's just me.

Maybe she's not totally innocent of whatever, but I will never understand the writers RUSH to pull the carpet out from under that whole story line. 6 more weeks could've tied up some loose ends...
whoever made the decision could have waited on it, I'm sure they've dealt with alot of difficult actresses before, if Cady was being difficult, but think of the fans first. Give us what we've been wanting, then let her go if need be. Or have a talk with her, I gave up on AMC because they really let me down
i understand what you're saying. but from their POV they would have had to renegotiate w/her. apparently they didn't want to do that, hense the hasty exit.
it was unsatisfying. i was looking forward to the tad/dixie/kate reununion....i really was.
