Where is everyone this weekend

Hey guys, boy has this board been quiet this weekend. I know Jodi is off having a good time (hopefully), what are the rest of you up too.
I am busy making sure I am caught up with school enough because Spring Break is officially over and i have to go back tomorrow. And we all know that everything after Spring Break goes so fast and the semester will be over before I know it.
Yesterday we went out and got a new set of mattresses, so that will be nice when they finally get here. And the hubby is headed to WA state tomorrow for some kind of conference so I will have a few days man free.

How is your weekend?

Hey Shelly! I'm sitiing waiting for my hair to air dry before taking the blower to it to style it. Then we're back to the hospital to sit with my mother. She's not doing anywhere near as well today as she was right after the surgery, (She broke her hip.)

Last night there were 5 of us for dinner, and middle son slept over. He left early with his older brother to go skiing. My youngest also left before 8:30 with his g/f to move her out of her flat. That's the son who's leaving for Australia for 8 months in a couple of weeks, and his g/f was supposed to be there already, but she broke her leg snowboarding 2 weeks ago. That little snag has put a strain on their relationship, big time.

Yesterday was spent back and forth to the hospital, grocery errands, cooking, etc. The worry over my mom has pretty much dominated my thoughts since Thursday. I'll be taping my shows for the next while, I think. Mom expects me to visit her every day, and 2 pm seems like the best time for her. And my father needs me to get his meals in order. My mother spoiled him rotten over the years and he can barely make himself a pot of tea.

I've got to go get ready now.

I'm here at home with a cold. Yesterday I was at a baby shower for my cousin. It was a blast, the only down side was driving 85 miles each way. The trees are starting to show some early getting ready for life on the south shore of Massachusetts, where I was yesterday. I'm wondering if this is the start of allergies for me, or my first cold of the season. I'm couching it today, and taking some serious naps. I did some serious housework earlier, so it's really a quiet day for me. I should be out, getting my nails done, but I can't find the energy, so it's back to the couch for me.

Have a great weekend.

oh my goodness, both of you are definitely in my thoughts. Kae I hope that things with your mom get better soon. I know how hard it is to wait for so long for them to get better, hopefully she continues to get the better care you said she was getting yesterday.

And Tess I hope you feel better soon, coming from someone who lives in your neck of the woods its too beautiful outside to be sick for too long.

(BTW Tess we really outta plan a mid-way lunch or something so we could meet one day)

I'm back taking a break before starting dinner. Thanks so much, Shelly.

Mom was a little better today but when she learned that her surgeon had ordered 6 weeks of total bed rest, she became very upset. Her nurse told me and mom overheard. I don't know if that means hospital time or home time, and the doctor is nowhere to be found whenever I'm there.

Does anyone know of a good dry shampoo?

Hope your cold is just a mild sniffle, Tess. Take care of yourself, okay!

Neutrogena has some great shampoo's for dry hair, and some good treatments. I have recently been using Sunsilk brand of shampoo and conditioner, and I have had some really great results with it. My hair is seriously chemically treated, with all my blond highlights, and even though my hairdresser is very careful about not over processing my hair, I still try to find a shampoo that will give it an extra boost.

I also use a flat iron on my hair, which is long, so it really gets pushed. I have very curly hair (like Shirley Temple), and I can not stand having my hair curly. It tends to become very bushy as the day goes on, because I'm forever running my hands through it, while I'm at work, and focused on my computer. If I wear it curly, I end-up looking like Bette Midler in the movie Hocus Pocus by the end of the day!

I hope all goes well with your mother, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Shelly, we definitely have to do one of those meeting in the middle lunches one of these days! Let's try to do it sooner than later. Once the warm weather starts, I'll be into some serious yard work for a while, with the spring clean-up, and a few new projects I have decided to tackle. I believe I am getting a new swimming pool and shed, so it will be a busy spring!

We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely weather. We went to the park had a picnic and then on Sunday I helped my aunt debbie with some of her homework. THe poor thing is doing 19 credit hours of classes as well as 300 hours of practicum work. I know I could never do that. Well, last week the poor thing got food poisoning and had to leave early for the day and missed her com class. Well communications is my thing so she ame here and I helped her whip up an informal report about the employment outlook and some creative recruiting techniques for the education field.
