I noticed the dialogue seems off. Especially when it comes to the way the guys talk. Honestly, a lot of the dialogue and the way it's said doesn't seem right with the way guys are. Nash's reaction at the vineyard was dead on, completely guy like. But a lot of the guys reactions and the way they handle situations seem more like a woman's opinion of how a guy should act in a situation and NOT the way a guy should act.
Todd strangling Cole and going after Cristian good, John continuing to let Natalie walk all over him without saying much, not good. No guy, no matter how patient of a man, is going to put up with all that Natalie has laid down. This reminds me of the way JER was writing Days. The guys had no backbones and the women ruled. Bottom line, that doesn't happen. At least one guy is going to stand up for himself if not a lot more, whereas here in Llanview, the guys seem to go through long phases of getting trambled and then going all Mr. Explody (ala Cristian and Todd).
Just a thing I thought we could discuss.

I haven't seen today's epi yet, will play it in a few minutes, though. Whenever John Lopreino (sp?) does dialogue, it feels very guy-like for the men. They must have a bunch of women doing dialogue for now. They ought to have a bead on how the guys are supposed to behave, though.
Brandon, the John and Natalie stuff is just plain wrong on so many levels.
John's a flaming jerk no matter how annoying Natalie can be, and I like her! But whenever she's around that guy, he torments her with mixed messages, and she tries to interpret his actions, and often gets it wrong.
Women generally wouldn't put up with HIS crap either. Their entire "love story" is a mess, and I've pretty much lost interest. Now that I'm taping episodes, I really do FF them. I don't mind John, but not around any "love interest". He had some good scenes with David.
Yeah unfortunately a lot of sections of the show that used to be interesting are not so much. John-Natalie. This Tate-Adrianna-Rex triangle is horrifyingly bad. Horrible. Evil.

i also got to say i disagree w/your perception of the natalie/john relationship. when natalie first appeared she was a person who thought for herself. she was the one the guys followed.
higley has totally trashed her. turned her into a woman constantly seeking approval from the jerk~that~is~john. evangaline did the same when she was w/him. always seeking his affirmation of love & devotion.....which he consistently refuses to give. it his method for controlling the women in his life at any given time.
mc bain is IMO an emotionally abusive man.

You're right about them trashing and changing Natalie Kris. When she first came to town she was a grifter, and spunky and loud mouthed and now its like she just whines about John.
She's not the only one.......someone mentioned how it used to be with Evangeline and look at her now but this isn't the only soap that does it.
Check out Sam when she showed up and Sam now on GH. Its like these writers think for them to have women be with guys that they have to sap all their own personality and will and fire from them and then we are left with weak, whiney, dependent boring women.
I don't know about Bran but for me as a guy no matter how great looking the woman looks initially the thing that really draws me in or keeps me drawn in and wanting to spend more time with her is her personality.
If she's got a great personality I want more and more of her and as gorgeous as all the women I mentioned above are the way they're being written for now I don't know if any of their personalities would keep me continually wanting to be around them more and more.
