For the girls: "This Says It All"

I have a scary-huge boarding school reunion coming up next weekend, so I've recently been in touch with a lot of my former classmates (big graduating class of 35!). One of my classmates, who has been in touch with me fairly consistently over the years, sent this the other day, not only to me, but to our other classmates. I thought that the ladies on the board would appreciate it!

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.

BUT...
Sisters are there, no matter how much time
and how many miles are between you.

A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley
and you have to walk it by yourself,
the women in your life will be on the valley's rim,
cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you,
intervening on your behalf, and
waiting with open arms at the valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules
and walk beside you, or come in and carry you out.
Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law,
sisters, sisters-in-law, mothers, grandmothers, aunties,
nieces, cousins and extended family
all bless our life.

When we began this adventure called womanhood,
we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead,
nor did we know how much we
would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.

Pass this on to all the women who
help make your life meaningful.

I just did.

RE: For the girls: "This Says It All"

Thank you, Moore. This is so true, and these days are difficult ones for me. My good girlfriends are helping me cope with the new challenges as my role is changing into a more demanding one every day.

I hope the ladies here will always have the support of their friends in time of need.

Love to all of you!

And, we're all pulling for you, KaeEll. We'll come in and "carry you out", if necessary!

The younger ones on the board may not fully understand how important life-long friendships become later on, but they will.

I honestly don't know what I would ever do without my close girlfriends, and other close women in my life!

Hugs to my new cyber girlfriends.

well as a younger one I cant tell you what I would do without my close friends. And at this point the only way I get to talk to them is through the internet. Its one of the downfalls to the military. You meet fabulous people but then you have to leave them.

I had alot of friends when I was younger, but found that once they got married and had kids, moved away, and a full time job, they just about dropped off the face of the earth

I wish I still had the friendships I did. I certaintly make an effort to keep in touch, but no one else does the same

And so I make cyber friends!

ME TOO!!! You guys are great!

We just got back from the rehab hospital seeing my little mother. We got her a TV and we watched OLTL together. My mom has never been a soap fan, but she recognised Viki and Dorian, said something about them being around a long time, LOL! I guess she was with me at my house years ago and caught a few episodes with me then. I'm trying to get her to watch soaps to help her pass the time while she's laid up. But she said that it's a silly bunch of stories and fell asleep. (I was trying to explain to her about Jessica and Nash, LOL.)

This is a federal holiday here, and all the stores are closed. I mean ALL of them! And my son is having a party tonight as an 8 month farewell to his buddies as he leaves for Sydney on Thursday until mid December, and didn't buy anything yet, including the beer and nibbles. Some party, eh? I guess he'll call everyone and change it to Saturday night. Kids!

When I lived in San Fransisco for a few years, I was so surprised that the US doesn't widely recognise this day as a holiday. Some places did, but not most. The company I worked for gave everyone a 2 hour lunch to go to church, but that was it.

Now I just resent the shops being closed down. Not my favourite holiday at all.

Thanks for posting that Moore. I love the message, it's so true. I have two girlfriends online from another board who really helped me get through a tough time, and you all put a smile on my face every day.

And if anyone here ever, ever, ever needs anything...you know I'm here.
