Today I had an incredible surprise at work, a significant bonus!!!! I have decided to treat myself to three things that I want around the house. A new dining room set, a new shed for outside, and a flat panel TV for the wall, to free up some space in my living room.
My brother has a Sony plasma and it's incredible, and I've wanted one ever since I saw his. I'm very confused. Does anyone have any suggestions, or input related to the difference between LCD verses plasma, and what route I should take? The cost for a Sony LCD in 32" is only $100.00 less than a 40", so I thought heck go with the 40". But then a friend said that I could end-up with a poorer quality picture if I don't get alot of HDTV channels, then he said that I might be better off going with a different brand, and taking the $800.00 difference and buy myself a Bose surround system with the $800.00.
HELP....... I'm so confused and really would appreciate any input related to if there really is a difference in the Sony to justify the extra cost. Has anyone researched this, or have one that they would recommend? I've tried to do some research online, and it has given me the makings of a really good headache.
I really want a good TV for the wall, and I can't figure this stuff out. I don't understand why I'm having this mental block, and can't seem to really get it, so your input would be GREATLY appreciated!
Im with Kris on this one, Congrats on the nice bonus. I guess all those early mornings do pay off for you. I will ask my husband his opinion for you too. But I have to say he is a bit of a Sony man.
BTW, Tess do you know of a decent shopping place that is somewhere in the middle of where you live and where I live. I thought it might be fun to meet up one weekend at an outlet place or something, have lunch and walk around...
Thanks guys, I'm really clueless on this one. Yeah, those early mornings really have paid off!
I had no clue that I had the bonus coming, and I was absolutely stunned when I read the amount, it was significant, even after being pro-rated because I only joined the company last June.
Shelly, I'll send you a message, and maybe we can try to connect and figure out a plan. I'm working from home today.
