Phyllis is distruaght because Nick didn't come home at all last night, and they're supposed to be getting married today. Michael rushes over to ease her mind, but doesn't have much success, as Phyllis is sure that Nick has left her for good.
Niki takes David to Victor's office and breaks the news that she's hired him as her campaign manager. Victor is convinces that it was a very bad idea.
Sharon decides to go ask Nick if she can attend his wedding because Noah's being a difficult little brat and refuses to go without his mother. Jack has zero luck convincing Noah that moving into the Abbott Manor would be fun. He realises that the kid has been overloaded with changes. Sharon wishes that his therapy would work better and faster.
Victor finds Nick at the GCAC and he tells his dad that he has serious doubts about marrying Phyllis.
Nick turns up at the tack house with a wedding present for Phyllis - a video game she was dying to have, all are pleased to see him. He assures Sharon that he'd be fine with her attending, and he'll see her at the church. Phyllis realises that he does love her after all, they kiss and make love and it's all better now.
Jack arrives at the church alone, recalls his wedding to Phyllis with sadness in his heart. (PB conveyed so much on his face without even saying one single word. Good scene.)
Daniel drops by his mom's place, googles at Summer. Seems Lily isn't going to attend the wedding - Daniel says she's not well.
Nick stops by Sharon's to check on Noah who asks his dad to tell Jack he won't move away from the ranch. They decide to table the conversation until later.
Victor fills in Jack about Niki hiring David Chow, encourages him to win the election. Jack looks bothered by this news.
Daniel and Phyllis arrive at the church. greet Michael, Lauren and Fen. Niki and Victoria are there now too, join Victor in the pew. Daniel sees Lily there, they hug. She felt she needed to be there for him. And now Jack and Noah are there, say hi to Jack and Sharon. Sharon tells Jack how Nick eased Noah's mind a little by telling him what a great step-father Jack was to him when he was married to Niki. Jack's pleased and bemusesd by this support from Nick.
Victor stops in to the vestry where Phyllis is about to change into her gown, welcomes her to the family, hugs her warmly.
Little lovey-dovey stuff with Michael and Lauren. Then Jack pops in to see Phyllis who is now in her dress, tells her he wants to very best for her as she deserves to be truly happy. Ditto to him from her. Daniel comes to get his mom - it's showtime! Jack looks on lovingly as Daniel escorts his mom to the altar.
The ceremony is on and both Nick and Phyllis are all smiles. She interupts the minister to thank everyone who is there for joining them, says all she has ever been looking for is family and despite their differences, they care about one another, and thanks again. The minister resumes, the rings are exchanged, vows are siad, and they are pronounces husband and wife. Sharon looks on with sadness and Niki with snark on her face. Noah announces to Sharon, Jack, Victor and Niki that he wants to live with his grandparents.
Phyllis is arrested in the church for extortion much to everyone's horror!
next:
Michael asks Bardwell who it was that lodged a complaint against his client. Will says he can't.
Neil tells Victoria that he's not going to take one for the team this time.
Jack asks Sharon if she has anything else to tell him, anything she left out? Sharon stands there mortified. Jack's pissed!
I got the impression that Jack wondered if Sharon had anything to do with Phyllis's arrest right after her wedding ceremony. It was obvious from this episode that Jack still has very warm feelings for Phyllis, and Maggie did announce for all to hear that Phyllis was being arrested for extortion. Jack knew about the "blackmail", so he put two and two together, or so he thinks.
I'm pretty sure this whole thing was orchestrated by Nicki. She was up to anything she could think of to ruin the wedding, and I guess she did the job well.
I'm not a lawyer, know next to nothing about legalities (having had the good luck not to ever have had a brush with the law, lol) but I kind of doubt that what Phyllis did by holding over the dirty little secret and encouraging Brad to vote her way was against the law. There was no money involved, so it was only emotional blackmail. Half the country would be imprisoned if that were illegal.
