Here are some recaps from shows that were aired a year ago (in May of 06)
AMC:
May 1st-5th: Zach and Kendall continue to talk as they slowly make their way back to Pine Valley. Kendall eventually comes to the realization that she loves Zach and she doesn't want to give her baby up for adoption. Zach and Kendall make love and afterwards decide to get married. Once they return to Pine Valley, Kendall and Babe team up and enthusiastically throw themselves into setting up a daycare center at Fusion. JR continues to drink heavily as his distrust of Babe grows. Dixie tries to drug Greg in an attempt to gain information about Kate but Ryan interrupts before she can question Greg. Jack decides to take Lily back to boarding school in a desperate attempt to keep her away from Jonathan. Lily plays along with Jack's plans until she gets an opportunity to hide on the train. Thinking Lily got off at an earlier stop, Jack gets off the train not realizing that Lily is still on it and hiding. She ends up in New York City and things don't go well for her there. Lily is totally unprepared to be on her own in the city without any money.
May 8-12: Kendall falls into a coma after being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Babe's worst fears are confirmed when she overhears JR sitting at Kendall's bedside admitting that he was the one who caused a wall of construction equipment meant for Babe to fall on Kendall instead. Erica is faced with the difficult decision of having to choose to save her daughter or her grandchild. Lily continues to be lost in NYC while Jack and Jonathan separately search for her. Dixie and Zach break into Greg's office on the island and later return to Pine Valley.
May 1-5th: With the help of Jessica, Tess gave birth to a baby girl and then she pushed to take the baby home as soon as possible. Antonio got a court order to prevent Tess from removing the baby from the hospital before the paternity test results came in. Paige moved out explaining to Bo that she was protecting Matthew and him. A surprised David was arrested in Thailand on Margaret's orders, but after she came to visit him and learned she had no memory of anything except a vivid dream of having a baby, Margaret sprung him from jail. Spencer sent Denton to Thailand to take care of David, and he later received a camera phone picture of David and Margaret together. Blair took the kids to see Todd in prison. After comparing an old photo of a teenage David to the sketch Cristian drew, Natalie concluded the shooter of Officer McBain was David, and told Evangeline and John. A worried Rex shuttled Adriana back to his place to protect her, but a shadowy figure broke into the apartment and snuck up behind her. Kevin suggested a sperm bank to Kelly but when she maintained she only wanted his child, a frustrated Kevin lashed out at her, ripped the engagement ring from her finger, and told her they were over. Duke found a shaken and crying Kelly and attempted to comfort her. Michael and Marcie's wedding stumbled along but the happy couple managed to wed in a beautiful, candlelit ceremony. While the other guests were at the reception, John, Natalie, Evangeline, and Cristian were sprayed with glass from the church windows as a storm raged outside.
May 8-12: John tended to Natalie's bleeding leg and promised to be partners with her on the case. Natalie pleaded with John not to go to Thailand after David, but she snuck out of the hospital and surprised him on the plane to Thailand. Evangeline discovered she was blinded by glass from the church. Duke and Kelly had sex in the rectory and were both injured severely when a second twister ripped through the building afterward. Faced with the possible death of one, Kevin was forced to choose whether Kelly or Duke would go into surgery first, and he chose Kelly. Duke flatlined with Kevin at his side. David told Spencer to keep quiet about his part in the McBain murder or else he would share Margaret with the world. Spencer told Denton to eliminate the threat of David. Clint got Tess, Nash, and Antonio to all agree to live at Asa's with the baby until the parentage was settled. After a car accident, Antonio was electrocuted by power lines, and Nash talked Tess out the car to safety. When Tess posed as Jessica to give Antonio a reason to live, the two later seemed to soften toward one another. The stalker got to Adriana at Rex's loft and nearly kidnapped her before being scared off. Rex and Adriana admitted they loved one another.
May 1-5th: After Sam is shot in Jason's arms, she is rushed to General Hospital and immediately taken in for surgery. Her condition is critical as complications arise. Initially everyone suspects Sonny of being responsible for the shooting but Sonny learns from his hitman that he received Sonny's order to cancel the hit so he didn't shoot Sam. The shooter is Manny and he soon moves onto his next target, Carly. Lured into a nearby house she wants Jax to buy, Carly is trapped as Manny tries to shoot her. John Durant, who has stopped by to question Carly about Sam's shooting, hears the shots and races to her rescue. Unfortunately John is shot in the leg once he is inside the house and bleeds to death before help arrives. The mayor appoints Alexis as DA to replace John. Liz, Kelly, Robin, Emily and Lainey end up at Jake's after a particularly bad day at General Hospital. Realizing that Sam may die, Jason decides to tell Alexis that Sam is her daughter.
May 8-12: The paternity test on Courtney's son reveals that Nikolas is indeed the father. The results are sent to Robin's office but she is away on the Markham Islands searching for Robert. Jax decides to take Carly and the boys to meet Lady Jane. His mother is less than pleased to discover that Jax and Carly are a couple. Sam's condition worsens. Patrick returns to Port Charles in time to perform surgery but Alexis gets an injunction to stop it when Noah tells her that the surgery is much too risky. Later, Jason gives his approval to sneak Sam into surgery. Sonny's behavior begins to concern those close to him. Robert is surprised when Anna Devane shows up in the Markham Islands and is less than thrilled to find him alive and well. Georgie decides to ask Diego to the prom when Dillon takes off with Lulu in search of Luke.
May 1-5th: The problems in Bo and Hope's marriage escalated as Bo confided to Billie that his marriage was over and maybe they could have a life together, and Hope told Patrick that she wanted to forget Bo and make a life for herself ultimately ending with each "odd couple" making love never realizing that their entire reasons for divorce were all part of Chelsea's manipulations. Chelsea realized she could never come clean about her deeds. Shawn and Mimi thought they found a way to have their own biological child through in vitro fertilization. Belle and Shawn seemed to reconcile with the fact that they would never share a life together. Abby accepted that Jennifer had moved on romantically with Frankie. Carrie still loved Austin, and Sami still loved Lucas but Lucas was determined to be with Carrie as Sami was determined to be with Austin. Alex and Marlena arrived on Morgan Island unaware that Patrick and Hope were also there. Alex set up a deal for John to buy the penthouse fully aware that John would realize that Alex was never taking Marlena home again and Alex was taking his money to boot.
May 8-12: Sami continued to blackmail Lexie who was forced to lie to Carrie again. Alex and Marlena met up with Hope and Patrick on Morgan Island. Marlena told Hope that her memory was returning, but soon after, Alex drugged her again, but Hope remained suspicious of Alex and asked for Patrick's help unaware that Patrick was on Alex's payroll and slated to kill John. John learned of Alex's whereabouts and was off to rescue Marlena. Hope and Bo finally talked on the phone only to learn that they had moved on with Patrick and Billie respectively, again unaware of all the people who were actually keeping them apart. Mimi and Bonnie got the wrong idea about Belle and Shawn who had actually planned a big surprise for Mimi by decorating the second bedroom as a nursery for the "the baby Brady to be". It appeared that Lucas and Carrie and Austin and Sami would truly become couples unaware of Sami's drastic machinations to split up Austin and Carrie so she could win Austin for herself. Frankie told Bo that Chelsea's court date had been moved up.
May 1-5th: Nikki decided to go against Victor and assist her children in a corporate takeover. Nikki got mugged and shot in the back and Victor saved her life. Phyllis and Colleen went to Victoria's shower and Sharon was so upset she told Nick that she wanted a separation. Colleen made a speech and told everyone that Victoria was sleeping around. JT gave Colleen an offer to move in with him, but wasn't happy with Colleen about her speech. Colleen talked with Ashley and changed her mind about going to the wedding. Dru and Lily got into a fight and Lily accidentally sent an email meant for Daniel to Neil. Neil read the email which mentioned Drucilla's lies to Neil about Malcolm. Gloria asked Kevin to help her get Jabot and Kevin recorded Jack's words during a private meeting and displayed them all over the Internet. Jack spilled his thoughts to a reporter, indicating that he felt that Andrew Gibson was an alcoholic and therefore, responsible for his wife's death.
May 8th-12th: Nikki had a speedy recovery, and Victor decided to give the company back to Nick and Victoria. Sharon asked Brad if he wanted to be with her, but Brad decided to marry Victoria. Victoria asked Sharon to be her maid of honor. Neil found out the truth about Malcolm being Lily's father, and Neil was disgusted with Drucilla. Katherine hired a public relations specialist, who told Jack to step down from his position for awhile. Phyllis found out that she is pregnant. Mac came back to Genoa City, only to announce that she is going to New Orleans to work with her father.
as far as Y&R, Nikki is yet again going against Victor..will she ever learn
I guess she never will, lol! The way she's changed into a hard-bitten pragmatist with a heart of stone AND going against Victor doean't bode well for her. I hope she takes the fall instead of Jack. Just for once, can't Jack win something?
Re OLTL, last year there was so much promise for Nash and Jess/Tess. Now....????
Higleyitis, LOL!! That's the plague alright! If she hadn't wrecked that romance, I might still be watching just for them. I could fast forward through all the hideous Marty and Miles stuff, Paige, Tate, Adriana and Rex, and still have a thread of interest.
You know, the last straw for me was a couple of days ago when Jessica, lying there in the hospital bed, APOLOGISED to Antonio for being sick. That did it!
You have to give it a strong shot of Pinkslipcillin! One strong dose tends to cure that diease. Too bad apparently over at ABC they have a severe shortage of Pinkslipcillin.
