And let me clarify that Rosie never said our troops are terrorists, she was talking about how our government's foreign policy needs to be looked at as we were the ones to invade Iraq without UN approval and if China did that to us, we'd be pretty pissed
She said that she DOES support our troops, she wants them home etc.
Her words have been twisted in the media
many more Iraqis have died than the number of people on sept 11, thus the Iraqis view Americans as the terrorists.
And she has continued to say that she never called the troops terrorists and Elizabeth just won't let up
I think I heard her say something about our troups going over there and killing women and children....I wish I could get a copy of exactly what was said...I am sure it will be in the newspapers soon..

I don't recall her accusing the troops, she just said that women and children have died. I think she could have added that the Iraqis do kill each other via suicide bombers. So we are not entirely responsible for their total death count, whatever it may be.
However we should never have invaded. It's another Vietnam. In both situations it was not the troops fault, as my dad is a Vet, it is the fault of our corrupt leaders who base their decisions on financial gain IMHO
well its really irrelevant to lay blame...its not like its going to undo what has already been done...And you are right, the Iraqi's have been killing themselves (and us) more times then I can count.
I was just about to go outside to plant some flowers when my daughter, who slept in a bit, came downstairs, and flipped on The View. If she hadn't turned on the TV, I would have missed the battle.
It was REALLY heated, and Joy kept begging for a commercial break! I've never seen anything quite like that before. Rosie and Elizabeth were both FURIOUS, and Elizabeth wouldn't let it go! My daughter and I couldn't believe what we were watching...

Lainey has a bit about it in her columns. I watched the yoututbe clip of it, and it was quite heated. It was quite different from what we normally see on television. I am not a big Rosie fan, and I missed all the terrorist stuff in the media. I could not believe that Elizabeth brought up the Donald Trump thing. Talk about a true cat fight. Poor Joy, she was literally begging for a commercial break!
well on a lighter note, my husband got to "meet" the president yesterday and said it was pretty cool....My husband and his family are one of those rare people you hear about who are service people who still support the president. Proof, it does exist. Some of the things he said in his speech yesterday to the graduates were really good...
i agree w/rosie politically more often than not. i can't stand elizabeth & i hope they fire her ass. rosie was right...she has offered the olive branch when she & elizabeth have disagreed. all elizabeth had to do was say no she didn't agree w/what the pundits were saying. she wouldn't so i was hoping rosie would smack her in the chops. lol
oh & i agree w/joy. there should be some way to drive bush out of office or over ride everything he vetoes. i don't think the republicans stand a chance in 08. i just can't decided between hillary & barak.

I hate to say it but this had nothing to do with government for rosie and elisabeth. It was all ego. She's ticked about what E did or did not say to defend her. My intuition is sayung that it all comes down to the fact that E didn't get on a pedestal and say oh no Rosie doesn't think that the troops are terrorists, and rosie wanted that.E thought that Rosie could handle it herself which hell she has never had a problem before. The bitch of it all is that they weren't even arguing about anything political.R thinks E is a bad friend for not saying something... wellshe needs to understand that for E it's not that easynothing is all yes and all no.
all I know is that Elisabeth was overly annoying, she wouldn't even let Joy talk for a minute, she had to interrupt over and over again. Total Shrew!
Elisabeth takes any complaint against Bush personally, it's freaking weird.
Rosie just wanted Elisabeth to admit she did not say to the Republican pundits that Rosie's words were twisted and that Rosie never did say the troops were terrorist. And Elisabeth is a coward for that.
I was SO looking forward to the View today, but Bush was talking, blah, blah, blah!
I think I may be the only person on this board who isnt 100% against Bush...oh well. I think its a habit from my time in the Navy. You can actually get into a lot of trouble for saying things about the Commander in Chief.
LOL, I saw it finally through Lainey's link before I checked in here. What a brawl - too funny! That Elisabeth's such a card-carrying dimwit, I have no idea why she's even on television. Not a huge fan of Rosie's either, but bringing up the Trump thing was just dirty pool.
Shelly, you're not alone, but my three voting-age children will probably strangle me for saying so in public!
However, I'll also say that I can recognize his many mistakes along the way...
I have a "W" story to tell.
My husband happened to be on the Inaugural Committee for both of Reagan's inaugurations, and also for George Bush Number 1. Two days after Bush 1's inauguration, he had a party at The White House for his inaugural committee, and it was the very first party of his administration. Because of my husband's involvement, we were there.
It was so totally awesome that it would take too much space for me to describe it, and this is from someone who had been to The White House before Bush was elected, and who has met other Presidents.
I cannot even describe this event, but -- well, actually there's also a Dan Quayle story, but I'll save that one for another time!
Anyway, my husband and I stayed until the bitter end, and as I wandered from room to room, in search of the BEST shrimp that I've ever had (of course my hanging on would be food related), I ended up virtually crashing into "W" and Laura. Keep in mind that this was before "W" was even Governor of Texas.
My FIRST clue that the party was coming to an end was the fact that George 2 had obviously gone up to the private quarters, showered, and changed clothes. He was now in sweats, and his hair was soaking wet. When I nearly crashed into him (looking for that jumbo fresh shrimp), he was towel drying his hair! LOL...
Well, since I had already chatted up all of his other siblings, inlaws, Barbara Bush, the new President of the United States, the new Vice President of the United states, his wife, and other notables, I most certainly wasn't intimidated by this soaking wet presidential offspring.
I marched up to George 2, and told him (mid towel drying) that I thought his parents would go down in history as being among the most beloved President and First Lady. Naturally he agreed, and Laura smiled. We chatted a bit more, I found my shrimp, and finally, reluctantly, left this spectacular party (complete with Marine Band)!
I had no idea at that time that I was talking to another future President, and I still giggle at the sight of him standing there with dripping wet hair, and a towel, among the stragglers of his father's first White House celebration.

Oh wow that is so cool Moore. While I'm not loving the whole sending our boys and girls over seas and getting them slaughtered left and right, I have to give him some points for sticking to his guns. I know a lot of other people would have folded under the pressure and given congress what they have been demanding. Ok granted I agree wtih bringing the troops home (or at least redirecting them to Afghanistan where I think they should have been from the start) hey I give the guy credit. Oh and at least he hasn't played hide the cigar with any interns in ugly blue 80's party dresses (sorry Miss Lewinsky but that thing was hideous. I don't care whose happy juice was on it, I would never want anyone to know I had a frock as hideous as that). He has also stuck to his moral beliefs. I know not everyone believes in the same thing as he does, no one will ever fully agree on things like abortion and stem cell research, but at least he didn't fold when given some flack.
I honestly don't go for abortion unless there are extenuating circumstances, but I will never in a million years put anyone down for doing it. It is their choice not mine, but I also believe that if an abortion must be performed, then why not make something good come of it. If it can save a life or help someone to walk again, I think we should look into it. Oh gees I'm ranting again ugh I'm pathetic. I gotta go nurse a baby now hugs and kisses loves.
It amazes me that people remember Clinton as getting a blow job from an intern, and yet JFK was having numerous affairs, in the white house, including Marilyn Monroe. And Kennedy, as idealistic as he was, was not anywhere as good of a President, especially considering foreign policy as Clinton.
If only we could all focus on the positive things Clinton did.
Other countries actually thought we Americans were really nuts for concerning ourselves with his sex life.
