LOL, my "little ones" aren't so little anymore, except for Vanessa! And there's another on the way in November. But the big guys are still a bit of a handful with their changing lives and needs - they always somehow need mom and dad one way or another, thank goodness.
Thank you for the compliments. I'm extremely proud of my family, warts and all!
The group picture was taken in my living room, the birthday party pics, in my son Tony's house. Nick and his friends posing in his Anthroparrel t-shirt line was taken somewhere downtown near his old work spot, and Mike, I think, was in Japan last September, just before he received a text message from his (sort of) Aussie gf's parents that she'd been hit by a train in Calgary. He had to beetle his way there to rescue her....long story.
The days that are quiet are a blessing! My husband and I are, it seems, always recovering from one flap or another, comings and goings, boxes in and out of the storage areas, skis and snowboards, bikes, cars, tents, who's got what where.... . I could use some down time, but no sooner does life slow down a little, something else comes along, and all changes again. Sigh.
I added one for Shelly. Nick's at a ski resort near Banff, Alberta, and take a look at the signpost he's under. Phoenix is thataway.
Sorry about the tiny pictures. I don't know how to enlarge them. I stole them from various albums, and when I posted them into Photo Bucket, that's just how they turned out.
That picture of Mike was taken in Kyoto he tells me. He loved Japan but absolutely hated the time he spent in China. All he'll say about it now is that the country has a LOT of problems. His favourite places from that year long trip were the south island of New Zealand and the island of Bali.
Now it looks like he's taking his jazz trio to Germany for part of the summer. He and his 2 partners have been getting quite a few gigs around town, and they've decided to branch out. He plays trumpet, his friend from Heidelburg recites his (somewhat morose) poetry, and the third member is a girl beat boxer. It's different, I'll say that, lol. They call themselves the csfield trio.
my husband has been to about every country in Asia and absolutely loves Singapore. But he didnt have much to say about every where else. I was in Okinawa, Japan for a few months and it wasnt the best either. Though as an asian food lover that part of it was awesome (except having to take my shoes off and sit on the ground). Japan is actually where i first had sushi or sashimi I can never tell the difference..
I used to love travel, and there are still a few places I'd love to see, but Japan and China have never interested me as far as visiting there. I don't know why, but I suppose it's not an affinity of mine. My husband spent 2 years in Korea after ROTC and he loved it, but as an officer he had it pretty cushy. Then he took the army's year long ticket home and bummed around the world before he went back to school.
Guys react differently, I think. I don't think I could stand the crowds in much of Asia. My husband says it'd be a waste of a trip for me, and he's probably right. I'm a cheap date these days, lol.
great pics and video, I always wanted to go to Australia but as I got older I began to fear flying more and more, it's so crazy I know! what was the stuff you recommened to take the edge off?
