Time for me to reconnect with my peeps on this board. Well like I said, we travelled to Greenwood to spend the holliday with my relatives on my mother's side. My grandmother used to live there (deceased for awhile now). Now its just Aunt's, and Uncles mainly.
I drank a lot of cokes, at a burger or 2 and did some damage to some barbeque ribs.
Husband turned on the Boston Pops and watched the fireworks on TV. I fell asleep. We had fireworks here on the waterfront, but it was raining, so we didn't venture out.
We got up bright and early and watched the parade that went down the street just a half a block away. (I love this new house lol) Then after that I fed the kids and we made a trip to get Bethany's puppy for her Birhtday. She got a little 2 year old Maltepoo. A family from our church was giving her away even though they paid 800.00 for her as a gift for their daughter. She is kind of spoiled and decided that she didn't watn it because she wasn't able to fit in her purse. After that we went to my mom's for a cook out and when the baby and Bethany fell asleep, I went with my mom and everyone to fire works. They scare Beth and Aiden too much for them to go.
Good luck with the Maltepoo, Jess. We have one too, our Champers. He's a self-centred little brat, demanding and doesn't give a rat's ass about anything other than himself, completely different from our standard poodle. And they shed like crazy! But you have to love them, and they're wonderful with kids.
Champers came into our lives when he was a year old, belonged to my hairdresser. She got pregnant, split with her baby's father and just couldn't cope. She begged me to take him as a companion for Chloe, and we did. They're now inseparable, in love and the oddest couple.
But watch out for the dental bills! Maltese have a weakness for forming plaque and it's a whopping $400/year for cleaning.
