if the court ordered DNA testing confirms the *dad's* test then of course he should be relieved of the obligation & any payments mad between now & then should be placed in an escrow account.
the part of the story i found more disturbing is the tampa cop, who upon finding out that the child he had parented for TWELVE years wasn't his, separated himself from her. first of all if he was married to the mother at the time his name is on the birth certificate which makes her his child. if he had doubts, & he must have had since he requested the DNA test upon the separation, he should have asked for testing when he started doubting the paternity. the fact that he didn't becomes a big tough shit for him since he went along for however many years. he's a creep who didn't think twice about the damage he might be doing to his adolescent *daughter*.
