good book I'm reading

The Mystical Life Of Jesus by Sylvia Browne

This book is really good, did you know the New Testament wasn't written for 300 years after Christ and written, obviously by some people that never met him. And that the early Christian Church purposely left out important books because they wanted to control the people. They omitted data and facts to fit the way they wanted people to see God

This makes so much sense to me as I've never understood the Bible and how God could be so vengeful, etc. And how women were supposedly seen as unclean.

This book is based on information from many scholars and historians who have tracked Jesus' travels through other countries, such as Iraq, he was listed in the Koran as a prophet and leader. Ironically the Muslims may have more correct information about Jesus that we do, as they did not willfully edit the information

And by the time the King James version of the bible came about, even more information had been deleted. It's no wonder people interpret religions any way they want.

It's a good read, but some people may not believe what she is saying, as she is also a psychic, but her information comes mostly from research.

I read one of her books and thought it was the biggest crock, so i wont read it again. But anythng to help people understand the bible. And I used to watch her on Montel, but one time I caught a rerun from sometime last year where she said the war would be over by the end of the year, amongst other predictions she made. None of them came true. So while I believe in psychics. She isnt one of them.

And I actually did know that the New Testament was written so long after. But its not like the information in it was pulled out of thin air. There was a lot of things written down by the apostles, and thats where the New Testament came from.

Yes it was written by the apostles, but apparently edited by some early leaders of a Christian movement, to suit their own purposes, specifically the Pauline Christians.

I'm not certain if she's a good psychic one way or the other, but some of the things she says I've heard before and makes sense. Like that Jesus did marry Mary Magdalene. She says in this book (and this is from scholars) that in Jewish tradition the bridegroom brings the wine to the wedding, that is why Mary asked Jesus for more wine at the wedding at Cana. And that afterwards a Jewish man is then referred to as Rabbi, as Jesus is now referred to in the Bible after this wedding.

Certain groups have been trying to point out that she was not a prostitute and that she did marry Jesus, but for some reason the Church for many centuries did not want this information to come out.

They tried to manipulate the uneducated people of their time.

For me personally, this helps me to believe in Jesus in a way that I did not before. I always felt there were too many contradictions in the Bible and how we are supposed to live our lives. I always had trouble believing the Virgin birth, and what I read is that some gospels say it was and some do not mention it at all. The whole story of the Virgin birth, by a God, was used before with other religions including Roman Mythology and Egyptian mythology. It was a way that the early leaders of the church could assure that people believed that Jesus was Divine (not just a regular human). But that he was still the son of God and a prophet.

See, I dont believe that Jesus did marry Mary Magdalene. They said that in the book the Da Vinci Code and thats why almost all Christians are against both the book and the movie. I enjoyed the book but I never read it as if it was real. It was a fictional book.

And I have never had problems believing the virginal birth because I guess thats just what is my faith...I am still learning more about the bible so I dont know exactly what all the gospels said about the birth of Jesus but I guess since I wasnt there I am just going to have to rely on my faith that what I learn is the right thing. At least for me. And it is said several times throughout the entire bible that Jesus isnt just the Son of God but he is also the Son of Man. Im actually reading Luke right now.

The book DaVinci Code was fictional but based on historians and scholars studying Mary Magdalene, etc And something to do with The Templar Knights
