Happy Wednesday!

Well, we have reached the halfway mark for the week. I am off to get ready for another busy day in the office. I hope that everyone has a great day!

Happy Wednesday, Gabi has ballet today. for the first time since zach chopped off her hair, I put it in pig tails. It's kind of cute, but the very back won't cooperate, I guess I'd have to wet it and gel it, but it's not a production or anything

I might hit the grocery store for some ingredients for those recipes.

I'm really craving chicken and dumplings!

Haven't really planned my day yet. We had a delicious canteloupe for breakfast and some 12 grain toast with butter and OJ. I read the paper a while ago, mostly about Conrad Black and how some are screaming for his Order of Canada to be rescinded. And how Donald Trump's Toronto skyscraper isn't doing too well and he has decided to lop off the top 13 storeys, making it a 53 floor building rather than a 70 floor tower. I hope he bites it big time on this one. Then there was the plane crash in Brazil, another child falling out of an apartment balcony to his death (11th this year in town) and spoilers about the latest Harry Potter novel. Spoiler below.

(Hedwig the Owl and Snape die while Harry, Ron and Hermione live.)

And Mike emailed from Stockholm saying that the sun never set, that at 3 in the morning it was as bright as noon. He's off to see the sights today, then to Malmo tomorrow and the new tunnel-bridge connecting it to Copenhagen. I loved Copenhagen and the Tivoli Gardens, and the fabulous little shrimps they serve everywhere. It was the first place I ever experienced a feather-bed. Hooked me for life.

So what's up for you guys?

Gee and you know what, that's totally not the Harry Potter spoiler that I saw. I guess we have those that fibber and those that are the truth.

I think I am the only person I know who doesnt worry about the plane crashing when I fly. I guess cause if its gonna happen its gonna happen. Not much I can do about it, in fact I will be flying shortly.

Though I always worry when Vinnie flies because of the damn terrorist stuff. It doesnt take much for a terrorist to figure out that someone is a military member. So that scares me. But I have to get over it cause all he ever does is fly.

Anyways, I had a semi-interview this morning with the Navy Exchange and it seems like I will be able to get the job when I get back from my trip, but the pay is only 7.65 an hour. Hardly worth the effort to do that job and school. So I think I will pass. I had decided that I would just not work while i finish school so my grades dont suffer like they did last semester.

Oh well.

Good choice, Shelly. It's not worth it to work for such little pay when you'd have to get day care and all, not to mention the wardrobe you'd need, etc.

I decided to take the day off today, stay home, bum around, because tomorrow is going to be a huge whoopdeedo getting mom moved back home, etc.

On the midday news they just showed a man who stopped cars on The Lakeshore (busy street) to scoop 3 goslings up and place them on the grassland beside the road next to the lake. The fourth little guy didn't make it. What a nice man!!

well the job I am at is hardly worth it either. I make 180 a week, 100 of that goes to daycare...Plus since I work where they make subs I had to get a new phone because my other cell phone has a camera on it. So take the left over 80 bucks..Pay the extra money for another cell phone and the rest into the gas tank doesnt leave much left over.

I am quitting before school because I noticed last semester I struggled with the 20 hours a week of work along with the full time school. I passed my classes but the grades really could have been better. So I am quitting.

The question is, is it bad for me to put in my 2 weeks when I will be gone the first 2 weeks of August. Or should I give 3 weeks so they have me the week I get back.

Shelly, when you leave for the trip, leave the job. I wouldn't think the boss would want you back for just one week after being gone for 2, then have to replace you twice! Make it a clean break, but don't piss them off. It never pays to piss people off, particularly employers.

Sorry to hear that you quit school. Is it just for now, though?

Oh, just the summer off! Great news!

Shelly, refresh my memory, please. What are you studying? What kind of work would you love to do?

I am pursuing a degree in Hotel Management. And I love working with people. If anything this job has taught me that I dont want to work with computers. At least not spreadsheets. I have seen enough excel to last me a life time
