We havent done this in awhile, and I was just over there in the AMC board and got irritated again so I thought it might be fun to do another one...
Ive gotten so tired of how everytime there is a thread about whats wrong with Greenlee there always ends up being someone who compares Rebecca to Sabine, like if Rebecca were in the role the writing would be different....ugh
Whoa!!! I almost started a thread like this last week, Shelly. I was over there reading a few OLTL threads and shut it off in disgust. I haven't read the AMC board so I can't comment on that one, but OLTL is loaded with fan war garbage and posters that really don't make a distinction between reality and tv drama. Some even identify themselves as a "jovan" or a "Java", that sort of creepy thing. I have no desire to chat away with nutbars like that.
And there's a real air of hostility much of the time. Who needs THAT?
On the Y&R board, again lots of negativity and complaints, and name-calling that really pisses me off. I do stop by for the spoilers, though.
yeah, I actually dont even venture onto the OLTL board because of what you guys have told me here. I go to the AMC board because our own Moore is a moderator and most times its not bad. But I get really tired of the negativity. I mean if the show is so bad why are people watching.
As for Y&R, you know what a Phyllis fan I am and apparently there arent many of them over there so I dont bother often. Like you I check out spoilers, and thankfully I have Raven on myspace so I dont hardly venture onto the ABC boards for those.
And lets not even get started on those nicknames....argh
Repetitive topics, lame topics that mean nothing and frankly, too many people who think their opinion is all. That and the influx of youngin's with no manners.

Bran, I think that the lack of manners comes from the fanatic types. There are a ton of them there and I honestly think many migrated to SOC from abc boards.
Moore told us a while back that many of the posters who SEEM to be really young, aren't!

Ive always wondered about some of the posters over there, somehave only been around for a few months and already have thousands of posts....I mean do they do anything else. I thought I was bad.
This board is different, the majority of us know so much about each other that you forget that we have never actually met
Yep, it's your Tuesday I'm watching now. More Brad and Logan, now out of the elevator and drinking at the club. I like this Carson fella, wonder what he's really up to here, if he and Plum planned a heist together, and that's where the money came from.
Back to the topic here, though. Last week, when I contemplated starting a thread like this, it was because I had been reading there and was really upset and disgusted.
I haven't been there in so long i've almost forgotten but I seem to recall it got to the point that no matter what character you liked he/she was gonna be bashed severely at some point whether they deserved it or not. I also like the mob stories as well as the hospital and legacy based stuff (even though the mob is part of the history of GH) and most people over there hate the mob.
I also noticed the lack of respect people have for each other and each others opinions and you can't have a different one from the old vets over there (opinion) without being attacked personally for it.
Flat, plain out in summary when I first started over there it was fun (I got almost a 1,000 posts very quickly) and now it ISN'T!!
I only go over there now for spoilers and news items.
I have to say, the AMC board over at SOC has the BEST moderator. She really does do a great job trying to keep the board on topic.
Heck, I even posted over on the AMC board last week!
It is really hard for me to have things to contribute over there. I rarely get to watch the soaps, probably once a months, I watch live, and then I don't really catch-up on Soap Net. I really keep up through the spoilers and recaps.
AMC is the only one I follow these days, I love Zach and Kendall. I can not wait to see how the baby drama unfolds. Thorsten and Alicia are such superb actors that they really make Zendall wonderful.
i hear ya Tess about AMC board over there. And if you like Zack and Kendall its even better because they have a lot of fans over there.
I popped into the GH board after Night Shift started to see what they all had to say about it and there were like 5 threads open talking about it, I think that Liz does the GH board (Moore??)..She does a pretty decent job, thats a hard board because like the OLTL board there are a lot of fanaticals. And a lot of people who hate my beloved Sam so rather then argue with them I just stay out of it
It's funny how just a handful of posters can set the tone for a board, isn't it? I noticed there quite a while back that threads were being posted as "positive thoughts only", which of course gets out of hand within minutes. It really is the fanatical posters that ruin a place very fast!
Tina, your thread about not missing Todd was deleted! I followed it because I posted in there with you. You made a simple observation and it turned into a snake pit because it was an unpopular opinion. And they claim that SOC isn't a fan board....my arse it isn't, lol.
