Welcome back, Shelly! How was the drive? Did your sister get settled in Virginia Beach as planned?
Mikey came back yesterday from Frankfurt and regaled us all evening with his adventures in Germany staying with a troupe of theatrical performers, all of whom lived in what I can best describe as a gypsy commune. He and his two other trio members were welcomed and accomodated in a huge yurt, decorated with Turkish carpets and a big old wood stove in the centre. He promised he'd forward his photos to us as soon as he downloads them from his camera, and I'll post them. The yurt was kind of spectacular.
One story I really got a kick out of was that of a little 3 year old child that lived amongst the performers, apparently without any parent. I asked if anybody at all took care of the little tyke, and Mike said that yes, they ALL did! No one seemed to know who the parent(s) might have been, but the child was extremely well cared for and much loved.
Anyway, Mike's trio was really well received in Europe and they all had a marvelous time. They had a video done and some promo shots taken. And now he's apartment hunting for the school season about to begin in a couple of weeks.
Tina, are you back from Boston now? How was that trip?
It was a very long drive but I am glad to be home. My sister is pretty settled. She has 2 interviews already and she said she has to make 3 phone calls. So thats good. She wont get into her own apartment until she gets a job. Yesterday was eventful. We were eating an early lunch at burger king before I left and some employee was shot in the parking lot. So I didnt leave as early as I had planned and so didnt get home until after 11 last night. I will be putting a blog together soon and when I do I will copy one over here. My monday will be spent getting the house restocked, the fridge is about empty. So I need to hit the grocery store and of course its raining so I will have to fight that too...argh
A Chesapeake man was arrested Sunday morning after a drive-by shooting in front of a Burger King in Virginia Beach.
The teenage victim, whom police have not identified, was shot in the arm. He was hospitalized with injuries that were not life threatening.
Kevin Josi Jr. of the 600 block of Station Square Court in Chesapeake was charged Sunday with malicious assault and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, said Rene Ball, a police spokeswoman.
The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Burger King on Fordham Drive at 10:48 a.m. Sunday, Ball said. About 10 minutes after receiving calls about the shooting, police stopped Josi, 25, on Indian River Road, based on the information provided by witnesses.
According to police, Josi is an employee of Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation. He works in the Kempsville Recreation Center.
Hey there! I'm having another crazy work day. I am working from home, but it has been crazy. We are having production issues, that I have to figure out, so I have been banging away on my keyboard since 5:30.
Happy Monday, and I can't wait to see the pictures! Welcome back to New England Shelly!
