i'd picked rock from the beginning. i never thought bonnie would make it as far as she did.
i was a little sad at julia's bitterness tho i understood her point. even after ramsey showed how much he liked her they couldn't give her an ounce of respect. she'd cried in the past but ALWAYS did a good job in the kitchen. besides, i think she got the best deal of the lot. ramsey will mentor her for a very long time.

I was a little let down by Julia's bitterness. And I knew Rock would win after Julia was booted. And while I hope that Julia does do well i read an article somewhere that said the details for her schooling hadnt been finalized yet, so I hope they didnt just tell her that for the ratings.
i think at least some of julia's bitterness was spurred by the very blatant disrespect of her talents.
i think gordon will honor his promise to send her to culinary school. it would be very tacky if he didn't. gordon seems to be two very different people. the guy who runs the kitchen then that nice, friendly, encouraging guy outside the kitchen.
i can't wait for his new show this fall.

Rock was my son's favorite from the very beginning too!
I was rooting for Julia, and then for Jen, but switched my preference to Rock once it came down to the final two. I'm glad that he won.
There was a mention of Rock in "The Washington Post" sometime within the past week. I had known that he was from the Washington, DC area, but hadn't really paid much attention to the details of his bio. It turns out that he has been a chef at "B Smith's", a restaurant here in town where my husband and I have eaten in the past (maybe the results of Rock's own cooking???). B. Smith has several restaurants on the East Coast, and several cookbooks. When her restaurant opened up at Washington's Union Station a number of years ago, my husband interviewed her.
It was just a funny little connection that I hadn't known through the competition, but which was kind-of neat once we all realized where Rock has been working all this time!

that is a pretty cool connection Moore, I am glad Rock won...and he was right it is a great message for his kids. I remember the first season winner was actually given a choice, Ramsey offered him the restaurant deal but then he offered for the guy to actually work with Ramsey instead and naturally the guy jumped at the oppurtunity. And the runner up of that first season was actually on Iron Chef America as a contestant, so that was cool.
