You know how we asked Brandon a million questions a while back, well Kris is just too quiet about herself, so lets ask her some questions, but of course respect her privacy as much as possible.
So Dear Kris:
How did you end up in Florida? Where are you originally from? Do you have siblings?
What are your kids up to these days?
What did/do you do for a living?
Where have you travelled to lately? What is your dream destination?
good morning. didn't even get here yesterday. spent the entire day dry heaving. how's that for a visual lol.
we lived in northern NJ (farm country & no where near the dreaded turnpike) in a town called wantage. we moved to florida seven years ago this past april. hubs had gotten laid off & he got a job offer down her.
i have my dad & two brothers but we are not close......four nieces & one nephew.
jarrod is *between jobs* ~~~ sigh. as is not so unusual in FL his last boss closed up shop & disappeared. he's pounding the pavement & the internet looking for work. he wants desperately to get started w/college ~~~ he's 20 ~~~ but obviously needs $$$. he had to take a GED. he's one of those really smart people who just didn't fit in well in school. he's largely self educated.....shocks me, & everyone else w/the number of subjects he's knowledgeable about. he's IN LOVE w/a wonderful young woman who couldn't fit into our family better if i had given birth to her myself. i'm predicting an eventual marriage lol.
sarah is 18 & once she gets funding she will be starting at the one community college that has an american sign language interpreters associates. hopefully she'll be starting in the spring term. she works as a server at our local bob evens, but doesn't get enough hours & the tips pretty much stink. she's hoping that one of our local italian (mid to high pricey) has an opening soon.....her friend's mom is the manager. then she'll work there while in school.
hubs...the less said the better. chronic alcoholic w/no intention of changing. he claims he started drinking at 17.....now 61....but i strongly suspect it was older as older brother was already well down the road to alcoholism back then (he's been sober for decades tho).
last job was a teaching assistant in a class for multiply handicapped elementary school kids. loved that. before that i did foster care for five years (it's why i hate the idea of them taking tommy away from the only real home he has known! all that attachment disorder stuff which is very real & extremely damaging to children).
my last trip was to boston about four years ago. what a beautiful city!!! health/finances don't allow for much travelling these days.
five years from now....maybe a different apt, but pretty much where i am now.....but w/an empty nest ~~~SOB!
i hated school. like both of my kids i wasn't a good fit for traditional schooling.
never played a sport in my life roflmao.
hobbies....i used to needlepoint but can't anymore due to eyesight issues. i knit in the wintertime now. i read....mainly mysteries of all types, and you all know that i watch tons of tv!!!
favorite movie is An Officer & A Gentleman!
can't give you a favorite book, but two of my favorite authors are jodi picoult & janet evanovich.

Thanks for all of that great information; it's good to get to know you!
I still needlepoint for relaxation, but I understand about the issue with the eyes. I have to use stronger magnification now to see the stitches, and any dark color, especially black of course, gives me fits. I still love doing it, though, but it takes me a lot longer than it used to!

wow very interesting, it's so amazinghow we come here every day and don't take time to know everyone as well as we could
From NJ to Florida, which do you prefer? I personally would love to move from Illinois, someplace south!
I like to crochet, I'm started a new hat for Gabi just yesterday. I always make a mistake on those darn patterns! Self taught though.
Have you thought about working again, or taking classes? I was thinking about looking in to nutrition. I'd like some sort of quick degree that will go along with my business degree that could get me a job in a few years. Maybe working for the schools here.
sadly my physical condition does not allow me to work outside the home & i've never found anything i could do online. i would love to take classes at phoenix university but finances are a huge issue & i just won't take out a loan to do it.
while the summers here are brutal i much prefer florida. the winter cold was really rough on me. i'm so looking forward to the first day it only goes up to 89....makes such a psychological difference lol.
