Today was great. I had a really good time, and all the people are super nice. The environment is small, and cozy. There is a TON of information to be learned, but I'm confident I'll do okay.
The only bad thing is that the boards and my e-mail are blocked on the network there. HMMPH. So, I'll only get to get on at night and on the weekends, just like I was before I moved.
We're rooting for ya and so so happy for you too. IN fact you've given my sis in law the inspiration to go and apply for a job wiht them as well. Yay for jojo!!!
I'm on a lunch break...have to leave to go back soon though...
Kae, I leave Oct. 1, and return Oct. 12 for the first session. I leave again Oct. 21st and come back Nov. 2 for the second session. Which means I will miss Halloween.
Kae, they are flying me out there. I've already got all my flights booked up. They put us up in nice hotels, assign a few rental cars, and I got a pretty sizable check in the mail today for lunch and dinner meals while I'm there.
JoJo, I am so very glad to hear that everything is going well at your new job. Are you going to be an inside, or outside adjuster, and what lines of insurance will you be covering?
I worked in the property and casualty industry for over seven years, and I really loved the industry. I worked on the back-end systems programming. Progressive has such a great reputation, and with them being a national carrier, that really is great for stability and opportunity for professional growth.
How is Jackson doing in his new school, and how are you enjoying life in Wyoming?
Well, I will be dealing with both casualty and property damage claims. I'm not sure about inside or outside. I do know that at times, we will need to head out in the Progressive car (you know you've seen them!) to go assess damages to vehicles. Right now, I'm learning how to interpret the policy, to determine who is covered in what incidents. I'm sort of lost, but I'm getting better at it. I was in tears today because I was so confused on medpay and bodily injury coverages.
I think it's going to be exciting job, and I feel better knowing you enjoyed it somuch. And you are right, being a national company, there is plenty of chance to move up and around. We were looking at job postings just for fun, and there are bajillions of claims positions around the country!
We are adjusting well, I think. The last piece of the puzzle for me is my own place. I'm sick of being stuck up my brother and sister in law's butts. HOpefully soon though.
Jackson is doing great. He's made lots of friends, and loves it here.
