Phyllis calls Nick to wish him a happy birthday but gets his voice mail. Jana overhears and offers sympathy. Phyllis sidles off.
Gloria sulks, complains to Kevin that Jeffery had that cream, wonders if he believed her about being sentimental....then Maggie questions Jeffery about the Jabot case.
Colleen calls Adrian who admits to missing teaching. Lovey-dovey stuff. Heather enters CL, tells Colleen that she's now in Adrian's class and what a great teacher he is. The two young women are building a friendship, or at least it looks like it.
Michael and Lauren also in CL now. Both Heather and Mike receive calls advising them that Phyllis's hearing is at 3 o'clock.
Nick takes Summer to visit her mommy. Of course, she's thrilled. (I wish they wouldn't stick pacifiers in the little kids all the time on soaps!) Then Phyllis is handed an emergency fax from Michael about the hearing.
Mike tells Lauren that he's not optimistic about Phyllis's appeal - a 5 out of 10. Phyllis says if she loses this, she'll lose everything.
Maggie is curious about Jeffery's interest in this case, tells him she's determined to solve this case for William. Meanwhile, Gloria is carrying on to Kevin about her suspicions that Jeffery is baiting her. (It's pretty clear that Jeffery IS up to no good, but not clear whether or not he has figured out the clues his brother had sent him.)
Heather and Colleen again talking about architecture, bonding over common experiences. As Colleen hunts for a book for Heather, she places an object (sort of looks like a salt shaker, but I doubt that's what it is) on the table and Heather says that it looks exactly like one that belonged to her roommate, the one who committed suicide. Colleen says it's Adrian's.
Lauren bursts into the condo with shopping bags, interrupts Kevin trying to calm his mother down.
Guard kicks Nick out as visiting hours are over. Nick and Phyllis kiss, exchange ILY's. Phyllis breaks down as the door closes behind Nick and Summer.
Gloria, dressed to the nines in all black, rubs her hands with glee as she spots Jeffery in the GCAC. He approaches her but she claims to be there for a business meeting but will see him afterwards. he agrees.
Jana and Kevin kiss hello (I'm so confused - are these two bf and gf again??) in the visitng room. She gives him a copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle...with passages marked for him to read. He says he's figured out a way to get her out through a website he's created, using medical reasons for her evil deeds. She tells him that her guilt haunts her. Michael arrives, asks Kevin and Jana to leave as he needs privacy with Phyllis for the hearing.
Colleen and Heather again, with the little doodad that belonged to Macy. Oh - it's a little ceramic tower of Pisa. Adrian enters and hangs his head when Heather says the doodad was Macy's. He admits that it was and it was given to him by Macy's parents after her death as a thank yu or helping with the situation. Heather doesn't buy it.
Michael explains to Phyllis that her chances are fairly good - blah, blah. Last chance would be the governor. She's happy that she could be home as early as tonight if all goes well. (Fat chance of that, huh?)
Jeffery tells Gloria that he's been lying to her. (Long commercial break.) He tells her that he lied about why he and William didn't get along - it wasn't their parents. He and William reunited as adults, hung out together and then he met this incredible woman, but she (Miranda) and William fell for each other and eventually married. So Jeffery moved far away.
Heather leaves Adrian's place, Colleen then asks for the real story behind that keepsake.
Jana bugs Phyllis as she researches her appeal process, gives her a picture frame she made for her.
Lauren with the two little kids, Nick, and Michael wait nervously for the fax with the ruling on Phyllis's appeal to come in.
Back to Adrian showing Colleen a photo of Macy etc, picks up the keepsake, says he keeps it as a reminder to always try to do the right thing.
Gloria gloats to Kevin that she's figured out that Jeffery's staying in town because she's such a beautiful, fascinating person, lol. He says she's certifiable, gets taken in too easily. Kevin doesn't buy that Jeffery's suddenly been taken by her brains and beauty, doesn't trust the guy.
Phyllis tries to get rid of Jana who is bugging the heck out of her.
The fax arrives at Michael's place!

Maggie asks Paul if he has told her the truth. Paul, "you mean that I'm the father that rejected her?"
David asks Jana about Carmen, "What did she ever do to you?".
Niki has Summer on her knee, tells her that when she starts looking for a husband, make sure he loves you. Nick overhears from around the corner, scowls.
