Richie realizes Ryan and a not-so-dead Annie completely pulled one over on him. Amanda and Babe thwart Ava's "interesting" attempt to get out of her Fusion contract. Zach's recruitment of Josh into his plot against Greenlee swiftly reaps results. Richie is sure he has Babe right where he wants her as the blonde does her best to fight her attraction to the bad boy. Krystal and Adam's heated argument takes a passionate turn.

IT'S TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE
Joe informs Kendall, Zach, Ryan and Annie that fluid has built up in Spike's ear and should the condition become permanent a cochlear implant will never be an option. Kendall's rage towards Greenlee intensifies as the possibility of her son never hearing again sinks in. Summoned by Kendall, a startled Greenlee arrives at her partner's old condo to find Spike's bloody car seat from the accident in the middle of the candle-lit living room. Kendall demands Greenlee tell her every detail of the night of Spike's accident and what the last words her son heard were. Greenlee forces herself to stand up to Kendall and tells her that Spike knew he was on his way back to his mother. Kendall allows Greenlee to comfort her after she breaks down. Greenlee leaves Kendall befuddled when she wonders out loud if another baby could bring them closer again, the same way it did years ago with Spike. Kendall explodes at Greenlee, who wonders if she is sincere about wanting to try and reconcile. Later, Greenlee encounters Zach at the hospital while researching cryogenics, while Aidan catches Kendall sneaking into Greenlee's penthouse.
