Phyllis loses the appeal and Nick asks his father to call in favours to help his wife.
Jack promises he will work all his angles to get her out as Phyllis tells him that she would never betray him by taking Victor up on his offer.
Oh oh! The prison chaplain that had John Abbot's will (the one dictated by Jack) comes to visit Phyllis while Jack is there too. Phyllis realises that Jack is acquainted with him. Jack has a pang of conscience as he remembers the day he duped his father.
Niki confides to Nick that she's afraid Victor will call in his loans to her, and that would ruin her.
David Chow comes to see Jana at her request. (She's still as loony as ever, drives Phyllis nuts.)
Victor is full of vengence regarding Niki, tells Nick that his mother went way too far this time, especially flaunting her relationship with David Chow.
David doesn't understand why Jana killed Carmen. She blames the tumor, expresses remorse, begs Chow to tell her what she can do to atone, sniff, sniff.
Heather tells Paul what a crappy childhood she had with an abusive step-father and the fact that her real father never bothered to get to know her is what the shrinks have told her is the motivation for her to prove herself. Paul's all guilt-ridden.
Heather gets a call from Macy's family member and learns that the keepsake Adrian has wasn't a gift after all.
Jack's suspicious of Brad's motives when Colleen tells him that her father is paying for all her tuition and books.
Michael calls Jack with the news that he may have a way to help Phyllis. Meet him at Victor's office ASAP.
Paul tells Maggie about his visit with Heather, feels terrible.
Heather interrupts a slap and tickle session between Colleen and Adrian, blurts out that Macy's family member (grandmother, I think) didn't remember giving him the Pisa Tower thing. He claims they they did. Later he says that they didn't give it to him. (??)
Jana babbles to Phyllis how upset she is over killing Carmen.
Michael tells Jack, Victor, Niki and Nick about how the work-release programme could work for Phyllis if Clear Springs makes the case that it cannot succeed without her. Nick pleads with his father to pull whatever strings he can to help - do it for Summer. (I kind of like the way Niki is acting all superior and snotty now because she's going down soon. I hate it when characters I like get it. Niki's on my dislike a LOT list, lol.)
Phyllis objects vehemently when she learns that Summer is alone with Niki.
Jack orders Michael to "make this happen" regarding Phyllis's release.
Next:
Cane with Heather, Daniel with Amber - all at the basketball court, guys snipe at each other. Cane's kind of smarmy and sarcastic while Daniel tries to defend Amber's honour.
Nick tells Sharon that he doesn't like the idea of using his daughter's (Cassie's) memory to restore her husband's image.
Maggie asks Jack just how he can explain his dog's hair on Ji Min's clothing.
Niki is on my not like so much right now list too. Just because of the way she chose her campaign over Victoria at the time I look forward to her getting some.
And do you think that Brad is doing all this for Colleen to help him sue for custody of his baby?
You bet I do, Shelly! Brad's always out for himself in every case, always! If he wins custody of Victoria's baby, then he'd be raising another Newman and that'd be good for BRAD.
He pretty much exhausted marrying up (Traci, Niki (almost), Ashley, and Victoria, and Im sure I left out a few), oh, and let's not forget he's going after Sharon in the worst way, so next best thing would be a child set to inherit a fortune.
Brad's a slimy creature. Never have liked him. I wish his whole George Kaplan thing would turn on him some day. That wasn't my favourite story, but I hope it's pulled out in time to make him pay for something. I can't believe nobody has pointed a finger at HIM for the mess that Phyllis is in. And Niki's mess too, although she pretty much wrote that scenario all by herself, the stupid twit.
And yep, I was almost always in Niki's corner until she used her own daughter that way. That did it for me. But I do think that Victor is going to be a tad too hard on her. She is, after all, the mother of a couple of his kids.
I wonder how long it will take for Victoria to ask Victor to help. If Victor knew that Brad was out for custody of the baby I imagine seeing steam coming out of his ears.
Im watching this show right now and boy watching Niki with baby Summer makes me like her for the moment. And I still LOVE Phyllis and Jack. They have such an awesome friendship.
I'm watching my recording of today's epi (Monday's). So far, nothing exciting really. Amber's back on with Daniel and lots of Maggie and Heather and Cane.
Shelly, I alway liked Phyllis with Jack too. I betcha they'll end up together after a while.
AHA! Plot point is being established - Cassie's Challenge is going to be at Jack's casino in CS. That explains why there are so many people present at the explosion.
Amber just absconded from GCAC with the sackful of money from Ji Min's old room. She unscrewed the air duct cover, and there it was! I thought it had gone up inflames! On her way out of the building through the back door, she sees Cane and Heather in a huge kiss.
Shelly, I'll see if I can find the YouTube thing for you "Out of the Ashes". It's the promo for the big explosion that'll take place in CS when the methane goes boom. It's to happen on Thursday.
Thanks Kae, after I asked you about it I got the new TV Guide and it has a cool ad about it. Lets see if I can tell you what it says.
The title says Out of the Ashes
It says that a structure collapses. Jack, Sharon and Nick will be trapped together. And they will have to decide what 2 will survive and who will be left behind to fend for themselves.
JT and Cane will be trapped together with Kay. Says they devise a plan to save her unaware that they are not alone.
Lauren, Paul and Maggie await rescue with an injured child. While the building comes down around them old terrors surface as does the possibility of a rekindled romance.
Above ground, loved ones wait and agonize, assisting the efforts by bringing in high tech equipment and comforting friends. Victor and Nikki hope for news of their children. Michael and his family worry about Lauren. Jill looks for word on Cane and her mom, Kevin works with the rescue personnel to build a website tracking the survivors.
Sounds like they are building a good sweeps period
