Hey guys, just wanted to pop in before I am off yet again with the in laws. We will be spending today in Boston with Vinnie reenlisting on the USS Constitution. Should be a really fun day. I am excited to be in Boston so soon after we swept the world series this past weekend.
What is everyone else up to these days? Seems we are all pretty busy.
I'm so excited about Halloween today. Bethany is dressing in her leotard for dance class and putting on her tail to go with it. THen when she comes home it's time to get her "real" costume on.
In the new job, I am a technical team lead. I have a team of 8 developers, working in the data warehousing area. I am designing and responsible for a large systems integration project's implementation. There are 5 different technologies involved, and I basically assess the requirements, design the technical solution, write the technical specifications and assign resources to getting it done, and if needed I roll up my sleeves and code with my team.
I exited the full-time employee arena, and went back into contracting, although I am a W2'ed employee for a recruiting company, which basically means that taxes are withheld from my paycheck. I get paid hourly, and have all the overtime that I want. It is a sweet deal. The going rate for the type of job that I am doing is $75.00 an hour, so the cash piles up quickly. If I work overtime, I do not get paid time and a half, because I am classified as a highly compensated employee, so the whole over eight hours concept does not apply, that is a federal law.
The flop side of it is that I am in an absolutely attrocious tax bracket, and if I want to take time off I do not get paid, and when the contract is over, I have to find another job. My industry is extremely busy, and in the last seven years, I have not had an problems keeping working. I get an average of 7-10 calls a week related to other opportunities that companies are trying to ramp up for.
If anyone wants to come to Ireland, get a ticket, and meet me at the airport in Ireland on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving! My parents have a 4 bedroom house, and I already have a car. All you will need is a plane ticket and some drinking money!

By the time I had a free week you would already be back anyways..Have fun and take pictures. Im tempted to have you grab me a shot glass from there. That would be cool
