I began reading this thinking maybe dropping the bomb was a bad thing, on the other hand you read the article and figure there would have been many deaths anyway, just drawn out over a much longer period of time
Did he have a choice in the matter? Was he ordered to fly the Enola Gay or was it voluntary?
All I could think of when reading that article was the pilot in Dr. Strangelove riding on top of the bomb as it fell to earth, whipping his cowboy hat around and cheering. Sorry.
