Happy Sunday

Today started out with a call from our son in Australia, and we talked for the better part of 45 minutes. Life isn't easy for him there and as much as I wanted to shout "so come home!", I couldn't do that. That has to come to him when he has the realisation that he's ready to move on to the next chapter, that his learning curve has flat-lined and it's time. Sigh.

The rest of the family's coming for Sunday dinner, but tonight will be super casual. I'm going to pick up my little one early and have her "help" me make guacamole for the Mexican dish we're having. I have no idea what it'll be yet, but the kitchen's loaded with groceries, so we'll wing it. All this because I found 4 ripe avocados at the store yesterday, lol.

I'm kind of sad right now for my far-away son. This isn't easy at all.

Anyway, what are you guys up to?

I'm still feeling sick, but my husband wants to finish painting the basement. Not sure if I'm up to that.

I think your son is really going to grow as a person with this tough experience! Can I send my 14 year old!!

LOL I know it's got to be so hard having your son so far away. My step brother just returned from Ghana, West Africa and I know it kills his mom to have him over there, and for so many reasons. The main of which is that last time he nearly died of Malaria up on his return. In addition to that Ghana isn't the most comfy cozy of places. There are some really interesting people there lol. On the bright side, he did come home with something this time, and it's a lot better than Malaria lol. He has gotten engaged with a beautiful young woman named Areta. Unfortunately he has to stay here in America without for for at least a year ot get a job and life established for him and her, so that when he does marry her, they will be able to get her brought over here without too many problems. Even more interesting is that they are doing the wedding in Ghana. WE really really want to go so we're saving up money since it will be for over a year before he heads over there. My dad hasn't expressed any interest in going, even though my step-mom has to go. So we'll hopefully keep her company.

Anyways if he's ever up for a change of pace lol, they'll take him in at the home in Ghana lol.

Aw, Kae, I'm sending many big hugs and fuzzies your way. It's got to be hard to have your kiddo so far away. I know my mom would like to tell me to just move home! I've been complaining to her a lot lately about my horrible time living with my anal sister in law.
She's getting angry lately about me accidentaly leaving ONE single hair in the sink (I was getting ready to clean the bathroom, but she spotted it before I did), not cleaning out the detergent soap cup and letting it drip a drop on the washing machine and not wiping the glass the way she likes it done. Seriously. What is the deal? I've never met someone so anal! I love her, and she's family, but HOLY CRAP.

She's gone on some errands, so I'm letting loose for a few, LOL.

Sorry you're still sick Tina! Chicken soup fuzzies!

Jess, make sure to takes lots of pics when you go on your Ghana trip!

Today, I took Jackson to the park, and we froze our tushes off. Now we're home, and I'm watching some football and NASCAR.

Hey there guys! It has been a quiet weekend here in Massachusetts. Yesterday I went to Home Depot, and picked out some new lighting fixtures for my house. All the ones I have been looking at (houses...) have incredible lights, and since I can't find anything worth purchasing, I decided to upgrade my lighting.

My brother-in-law came over and installed the kitchen ones for me. He will get to the exterior ones for me over this week. I love my new lights, they definitely have what I was looking for. Otherwise it has been a quite weekend. This week is slated to be another crazy week at work, so I am going to get an early night, and try to get into the office for 6 am, which I managed four days last week.

It is definitely chilly here, burrrr...

Your sister in law sounds too mean! Especially since you've been gone for a bit. Tell her you are doing your best! How soon can you move??

Have you looked in to the cost of an addition up or out? you have plenty of land, although I think I heard it's better going up. Add a few rooms or alot!
