Well, I didn't get to make the candy last night with the kids, because Scott came over. He is so peculiar. That's all that I can say. Ok a little crazy too.
Anyways no school for the kids today. It's a snow day. Not sure if this will be good or bad lol. So I think we are going to make the treats today.
I dont have much to do today. Got to get to school early so that I can sign up for next semester before classes get filled up. Other then that not much is going on.
There's a lunch date today with my friend, Christine, then pecking away at some housework stuff. According to the receptionist at mom's audiologist's office, he ran off and married the assistant three days ago and won't be back until the 24th, and if he didn't have a fat file of my mom's already, I'd take her somewhere else to get that darn hearing aid, but alas, he'd already given me a written quote that's about $800 cheaper than elsewhere. There'll be a lot of loud talking this Christmas, LOL.
Have a blast with your shopping buddy today, KaeEll. What a nice tradition you have with this friend!
My dog is driving me nuts, and I have finally decided to board her overnight tomorrow so that I can get some things done without worrying about what she's going to do! So, I'll take her to the vet tomorrow morning, let her stay tomorrow night (peace and quiet in the house tomorrow), go to my club meeting Wednesday morning (during which time the vet will bathe the dog), and pick her up again Wednesday afternoon, on my way back down from Rockville, MD.
Our "baby" flies home on Wednesday too, but is going to be arriving at Baltimore rather than Reagan National this time. She didn't know her exam schedule early enough to make reasonably priced reservations for Reagan National, so we chose Baltimore instead! I'm not sure yet whether my husband's schedule will permit him to pick her up, but if not, our son has volunteered. Bless his little heart!
I love this dog to pieces, but she's been a pain the past couple of days, and I don't have time to try to coax her back inside for twenty minutes, every time I let her out. I'd LEAVE her out, but she's decided to bark incessantly at every neighborhood movement, and I can't allow her to disturb the neighbors like that! Darned dog...!!! Cute, but BAD.

Oh boy ... well lest he could've done was let everyone know before he ran off that he was going to disappear. Well bets of luck to him, and you. Have you seen that little thing they have on tv maybe that'll help for the holidays.
Moore, our Maltese drives us nuts sometimes too with his frenetic energy. I had a homeopathic vet see him and she prescribed a remedy that we call his "off switch". I just drip 4 drops of it onto his tongue and within a minute or so, he's curled up into a ball sleeping soundly. I don't have to use it more than a few times a year. Maybe your pooch would benefit from something like that as well. Champ's remedy is calcaria carbonica (made from the inside of an oyster shell. Chloe's constitutional remedy is Lycopodium, and it does help her stay calm, stop her howling at the top of her lungs when I leave the house (as reported by neighbours).
I don't know off-hand if there are vets in your area familiar with homeopathy, but I could source one out for you if interested. The remedies are very inexpensive and a consultation runs around $90 for an hour's visit with the animal.
You know, we haven't had many problems with Maggie's behavior (must be getting the luck of the mix lol) she only gets hyper when she thinks someone is here. We do live next to a man who runs a heating and cooling business out of his home (or at least I think he does lol) so that can sometimes be frequent. However, if we tell her to stop she usually does.
Thanks, KaeEll. I can certainly ask our vet if she knows about this, but I have a feeling that it's partly because Lucy is a Border Collie. Sometimes, this breed just freaks out for no reason.
She was perfectly fine the first five years of her life, and then she began to become hypersensitive to normal sounds, such as papers being rattled, certain drawers being opened, and the crackling of fires in the fireplace. (My husband and I kind-of understand this last one because we think she may associate the pops and crackles with the Fourth of July, which she detests, along with every other dog in the United States!)
If I could only provide her with some sheep to herd, she'd probably be fine...

I guess my off switch is day care. With it just being me thats the only break I get from her, thank goodness I have daycare while I am studying or nothing would get done. That and when she is in the nursery at church.
Grr, I am at school and forgot my cell phone at church. Argh
Sure, Tina, but every kid has their own that can be determined by a h/path. Little babies with colic usually have one and the same, but older kids that get hyper would need an evaluation before prescribing a remedy. It would be a constitutional remedy, so each child would have a different one.
Homeopathy has been taking some pretty big hits lately as the pharmaceutical companies and medical associations have been lobbying to have many of the remedies removed from shops. It's all ridiculous, but happening just the same. My trusty anti-asshole remedy is one of them that has become almost impossible to find as it's now on the hit list. Thank goodness I have a life-time supply!
