This is really interesting. Go to the link below, and you'll see a spinning girl. Depending upon which way you see her turning (clockwise versus counter clockwise), it determines which side of your brain is dominant.
I saw her spinning clockwise which means that the right side of my brain was processing the information. That's the creative side.
Most people apparently see her turning the other direction. My husband can see her both ways...
I'll be interested to know what everyone sees! This isn't a "trick". It is an actual determination of which side of your brain is being used to interpret the spinning figure.

I see her spinning clockwise even when reading the text below. That is really interesting!!
Okay, the second time I tried it, when I was reading the news item about huge phone bills at the top right, she switched directions and went counter-clockwise. Obviously when I concentrated on the written word, my brain changed gears. Just scanning the little blurb below the image wasn't enough to command my other brain functions.
Several times I almost "caught" her moving counter-clockwise when I was looking at the text below, but not quite. I tried really hard to relax my brain so that I wouldn't impose any kind of preconceived idea of which way she was turning, and for the life of me, I couldn't force myself to see her turning counter-clockwise!
What's interesting to me is that the left side of the brain is the logical side, and I'm normally a very logical person. I'm fairly surprised that I wasn't able to see both, but clearly in this circumstance, my creative side took over!
Here's what another area of that link says about it:
It is the test of the Right brain with the Left brain, and its time to concentrate, not on the lady, but her movement, thats gonna decide the rest. If you see her moving clockwise, then youre using the creative side of your brain, that is Right. Whereas, if you see her move anti-clockwise, then youre using the logical part of your brain, that is the Left. My first impression of the dancer was that it is moving anti-clockwise, and thats how most of you would see it too. However, if you try and focus, who knows you may see it move clockwise, if you do plz let us know also.
--- Okay, that paragraph is also very interesting because I voted in the poll, and THOSE results showed that most people ARE seeing her turn clockwise whereas the paragraph above says the opposite!

I saw her going clock wise more than anything ... here's the results of the test that went along with it lol Brain Type Test - Free Results
Are You Left-Brained or Right-Brained?
Although one side of the brain is generally dominant over the other, we should strive to utilize both halves. A balanced brain makes a balanced person - combining sequential thinking with a holistic approach, or linear thinking with intuition, enables us to fully comprehend issues and solve problems. Left-brainers can dramatically improve their problem solving abilities by learning to "follow their gut," while right-brainers can improve the execution of their creative efforts.
Realizing your dominant half is the first step in becoming balance-brained.Your percentage score for the right brain is 56%. Your percentage score for the left brain is 44%.
You are more right-brained than left-brained. The right side of your brain controls the left side of your body. In addition to being known as right-brained, you are also known as a creative thinker who uses feeling and intuition to gather information. You retain this information through the use of images and patterns. You are able to visualize the "whole" picture first, and then work backwards to put the pieces together to create the "whole" picture. Your thought process can appear quite illogical and meandering. The problem-solving techniques that you use involve free association, which is often very innovative and creative. The routes taken to arrive at your conclusions are completely opposite to what a left-brained person would be accustomed. You probably find it easy to express yourself using art, dance, or music. Some occupations usually held by a right-brained person are forest ranger, athlete, beautician, actor/actress, craftsman, and artist.
Your left brain/right brain percentage was calculated by combining the individual scores of each half's sub-categories. They are as follows:
Left Brain Linear Sequential Symbolic Logical Verbal Reality-based
Right Brain Holistic Random Concrete Intuitive Nonverbal Fantasy-oriented
Each of these 12 categories has its own distinctive influence in shaping how you think, learn, and perceive the world around you. All the guys in my family (three sons and husband) see her spin in both directions. None of them noticed any change in the pattern when they were reading the bits of text around the image. Ted took the quiz and he's 57% left brain and 43% right which is SO accurate!
I suspect that (my) men see the dancer spinning in both directions (flipping from one to the other) because they are suspicious of the "test" in the first place and turn on their analytical side to see if they can spot the "trick". I sure can't hazard a guess about Moore's other half, though.
I sure can't hazard a guess about Moore's other half, though.
If you mean by "Moore's other half" that you can't explain my husband's being able to see both ways, here's how HE explained it to me earlier this afternoon:
"I've just got a confused brain. Wants to please everyone."
This is true! He's a man who despises conflict, and will try to please all of us to the point of irritating us rather than pleasing us.
Me to husband when he's in "let me turn myself inside out to make everyone on the planet happy" mode:
Will you PLEASE STOP IT!!!???!!!

Lol well, Cody (my son) is in a similar boat. He told me she was confusing him. Now here's the weird thing. She was going counter clockwise and then I called cody over to see and it's like she automatically changed directions then for me.
my son saw her counter-clockwise. Very interesting illusion, at times you think she's switching back and forth and you wonder if it's a trick. But then I read some comments and a few other people had that thought as well.
