Hey there... I am off to the office, but I want to say happy Tuesday, and can you believe it that this time next week will be Christmas morning?
I seriously need to get some shopping done! All that I have are the televisions for my daughter and my parents. I am giving high definition LCD televisions to them. Everyone should have one of these suckers, they are incredible. Did I mention that I purchased them online, and had them delivered to the house? I don't have any free time these days, although I need to find some in the next few days....
I am done shopping for everyone but my sister in law. And she is getting a gift card. We got both my parents and his one of those picture frames that you put your camera chip in and it shows the pictures and rotates them. I think that for grandparents who never see there grand kids this will be the perfect gift. We even got the chip for them, so I am going to put pics from the last year on them and give that too.
Jolene got all kinds of stuff, anyways, Tess Vinnie wants one of those tv's. We are thinking tax return. I would rather get new couches but thats what he wants.
I hope everyone has a great day, I am going to try and get everything ready for my trip so that when I get the package from UPS I can just go. I gotta get out there and salt my walkway so that the mailman doesnt kill himself.
Other than baby sitting at 3, I have a pretty clear day. I'll finish Christmas shopping on the weekend with all the crazy crowds and wrap on Sunday. I'm not really in the Christmas spirit this year. With Nick so far away, Tony travelling all the time for work, and Mike buried behind stacks of books, the family has been so different this year. We'll enjoy the meals together, but we're not really exchanging presents, except for gift cards and the taxi vouchers for my parents.
Shelly, when you're off in Virginia and Michigan will you still be able to pop in here to keep us updated on your travels? We have to keep track of you, you know.;) BTW, who are you visiting in Michigan?
Early this morning I put stale bread and a handful of walnuts on the front porch. Squirrels everywhere! Chloe is fixated at the front door, tail rigid and a look of sheer excitement in her eyes. Every once in a while she'll let out these hilarious angry barks. She's occupied and happy to be guarding her domain. Love, love doggies.
Yes I will pop in when I can, and I will be checking myspace daily probably. And of course my email. My in laws in Michigan finally got the cable thing for their internet so it wont be such a pain. All of our previous visits they have had dial up which was a major pain in my butt. Kae, I will be visiting with Vinnie's parents. They live in the UP. They are the ones who took us to Sioux St Marie or however you spell that. I love it up there, way pretty.
Anyways, Kae. I am sorry you are not in the Christmas Spirit. I dont know how my mom does it with both of her daughters on the opposite side of the country. But at least we are in the same country.
LOL, Shelly. The Sioux is such a dump on the Ontario side! I hope you stayed in Michigan for that visit. Just be careful driving, okay? It's awfully snowy up there. But good news that you'll have high speed internet and can keep in touch.
So when can Vinnie join you? Will he fly to Virginia to meet you at your sister's place?
I feel like such a dork but I wait for this time of year all year long. This is like MY time. I have to laugh because sFLoyd has finally learned it. He's realizing that he better just smile and play along because at this time of year if he doesn't I'll bare fangs .. quite literally.
I havent' got all of my shopping done either. I have to run by Old Navy Friday to get my cousin something. I'm thinking either a cute shirt or a gift card. We draw names in our family and funnily I ended up with almost everyone from my uncle's family except for his wife. This makes shopping very easy though because I had to buy for my uncle last year. He wants and Illini Rose bowl shirt. WalMart has them on sale for like ten bucks. You can't beat that. So he's getting that and a Taco Bell gift card. He loves Taco Bell lol. His son Donnie Jr. is one of those who just doesn't care. He's in his last year of college, so I'm thinking a college survival kit type thing. I'm going to get him gift cards to all of the fast food restaurants, and I'm stuck on the rest really, but we're supposed to keep it under 20. So geesh who knows. Then there's his youngest boy Dereck he loves tractors .. so easy there. FInally is my cousin Lexi who is the only one not in Donnie's household lol. She loves the same things Bethany loves (except she's older lol) so I'm going to let Bethany pick her out either a littlest pet shop toy or since I'm sure she has almost all of those one of those cute little webkins. Then I just wrap up with the stocking stuffers and a gift for mom and the stepdad and we're done.
Oh and does anyone want to know what I'm getting lol?
Kae we stayed at a hotel just barely inside the border. I can't recall the name of the hotel but we had planned on doing Canada and then going to Mackinaw Island as well and couldnt do all the driving in one day so we stopped. It wasn't bad and honestly we didn't go very far into the country. I just had never been to Canada and wanted to say that I had. Maybe if Vinnie ever does a real deployment I will come see you Kae, then you can show me real Canada.
Anyways, Vinnie will be flying back to CT on the 28th. So on the 26th I will head back here, the morning of the 29th we will head out. Hopefully we can make it all the way to Milwaukee that first day but I dont know.
