here we are the second day of the year and the board is so quiet. What is everyone up to today? I am not doing much. Thats one of the things I don't like about being here in Michigan there is not much to do. Spending the day inside finishing a book. Took Jolene out to play but the snow isn't wet enough for much fun, can't really make snowballs with it. She looks cute in her snowsuit though, will post pictures later. I suspect Vinnie may have to leave early to head back to Georgia which leaves me driving back to CT on my own. Oh well, at least then I will get to drive.
I have a million things to do. The child support arrived late so I had to replan my week lol. Instead of being able to get all my errands done Monday, I'm doing them today. Floyd is home today too so I'm putting him to work lol. We're doing some rearranging.
I keep losing internet. The router box downstairs has a loose connection and I've been down there 4 times already today to fiddle with it. And I'm still fighting off this bug.
Y&R is on now, looking good again! I better not try recapping because I could lose it all in a flash. But I'm around.
I'll have my so pick up a new thingy box tomorrow - he has to go to the store anyway for something else. I can always access from husband's computer, but I don't like his think pad at all.
Hey, Shelly - Sharon and Noah are going to stay with Jack! But Ashley is leaving to go back to LA. I was kind of hoping, since LML is gone, ED might be back permanently, but she just said she was leaving to go "home".
yes yuck on the cold and the internet. And yes Brandon i am alive, weather isn't too bad. Ventured out into the snow but like I said its not wet enough to make anything fun. And I am too much of a desert rat to have the first clue on how to build a snowman anyways. I hope I don't have to drive back myself. But if I do I will stop in Milwaukee and plan the second day of my drive so I don't get stuck in Chicago at the worst time. Jess and Tina I wish you guys lived along my path that would have been cool.
Anyways, hubby is outside putsing with the truck. Who knows whats going on. I think he may have known all along that he would have to leave but maybe hoped he wouldn't and so didn't tell me.
Aw, Shelly, I'm so sorry about the disappointment with Vinnie's early departure! What a shame, but that's life, huh? If you feel like taking a LARGE detour, you could always pop by here for a few days. I could give you expert snowman-making lessons, lol. (Not something I'd especially happy about knowing, but hey, I'm a Canuck, after all.)
There was an article, I think at GCNews, about how LML was gone for good, and replaced by 2 other writers, and she's no longer going to executive producer either. I'll see if I can find it for you, Shelly. It's apparently supposed to be good news. And the new script writers are already responsible for what we're seeing now, too.
I have noticed that Y&R has changed a little in the past couple of weeks. Dialogue seems better, stories are moving again, and with the exception of Victoria's coma, we have a good soap again.
Still sick... I thought this wretched, mutant whatever-it-is had turned around, but I began sneezing nonstop yesterday, and woke up this morning feeling miserable again.
Happy New Year to me!!!

I have actually kind of ignored the Victoria story. I guess you forget sometimes the bad stuff. And Kae I wish I could take that large detour. But I don't even have a passport so that wouldnt work. Plus I need to get back to CT so that I can find a job.
Moore, we probably have the same strain of flu/cold/yucks because I was so sure last night that I'd be up and attem today, but nope. Still house bound with zero energy.
Shelly, LML's last episode aired December 24. There hasn't been an official announcement that I could find, but the scuttlebutt has it that she is gone for good. The writers' strike probably has something to do with the lack of announcement. All I know is that Y&R seems to be pretty good again.
We probably do, KaeEll. This stupid thing is really tenacious!
I hope you feel better soon...
Oh, and PS -- it didn't help that my husband picked out some random toothpaste when he was at the store the other day which is cinnamon based. Aside from the fact that I didn't like the way it tasted, it apparently BURNED my tongue!!! So, on top of feeling generally wretched with this end-of-the-world virus strain, my whole mouth hurts.

Jessica you are lucky to receive child support! I am supposed to be getting it from Ryan's dad, but he's so far behind I could have him arrested. He claims he's not working though. So the judge would probably just have the payments stopped.
He lives in Minnesota so it's very hard to find out if he's working or not.
Actually Tina, you dont need to hire a lawyer. You just contact the appropriate state office and they do all the work for you. There should be some type of general child support group in Minnesota you can contact. If you know which city he's in, I'll go googling for ya. LOL.

wow, this board is a little treasure trove of where to look for child support. I am glad to hear that for the most part internet makes things a little easier. You should try to get whatever money you can though. All three of us are grown but since my dad was so behind my mom is still getting some money.
Well, if he files any sort of return the Department of Treasury should go after it. We usually get a nice little check every October from Cody's sperm donor. We also got his state taxes before we got ours last year. You have to love that. We checked with our child support agency here in town and found out that the evil one's not getting a dime of Floyd's tax check this year and we've started filing for visitation to the little boy. We're also going to sue for breach of contract because there is a line on the Voluntary Acknowledgment of Paternity that states that she is certain of the paternity of the father. She signed right beneath that. That was obviously a lie. So even though he's not the father and even though that doesn't matter and he'll have to pay child support untilt he child is 18 our lawyer thinks that we can sue her for the same amount he'll have to pay and all back support because she falsified a government document. Funny thing is that our lawyer didn't even think of it until I brought it up.
He hasn't found any other case that has used this approach and if it is successful we could set a precedent. So wish us luck. Oh we also reported her to the state for fraud with public aid because she used the Department of Public Aid to pursue him for child support after she had told him he was not the father. Things seem to finally be looking up in the case.
I found my "baby-daddy" house on Zillow.com. If he can afford to pay a house payment, then he's got to be working somewhere.
If he actually owns the house, and isn't renting it, get a judgment against him for amount owed, and have a lien put on the house. He won't be able to sell it until he pays you.

So how did you find him there, because I wouldn't mind tracking down Cody's father. Well then again maybe not. I'm considering going after him for more money because I hear he's making a lot up at some place around where you live. Now if I were to file for more money and he didn't show up for the court date, it's a slam dunk win. I also hear though that he wouldn't show up no matter what because he and his wife both have warrants for bad checks in this county so they wouldn't show up no matter how much I asked for.
