So little Quentin's baptism is on the 27th and no outfit yet. I called a few kids' clothing stores and discovered that these darn things can cost over $200! Isn't that a bit steep? I'm leaving in a few minutes to go look at one outfit in cream that sounds like it might be a keeper, but it's all cotton.
Would a cream coloured outfit be okay rather than pure white? My d-i-l has no idea. Little Vanessa wore a very girly- girly dress that won't work for the new little guy. Talk about bad planning, lol.
Thank you so much!! I just got back from checking out 2 more stores and I think I found the right one - a little cotton two piece in white. I'm going to meet my d-i-l there in the morning to see if she likes it. It's in a 3 months and 6 months size, so one ought to work. It's 40% off $129.
But first. I'll swing by Sears. The baptism is on the 27th, so online buying is scary with so little time! My d-i-l is usually so on top of things, but this time around she just today started thinking about it.
And Moore, my d-i-l has had my sewing machine for 3 years and can't find it! When the mould remover people came to their house, they packed up her office in boxes and my son put it all in storage. They have no idea which box it's in. I keep my mouth shut on that topic.
We ordered the sandwiches and cake, cut up vegies and fruit from Grocery Gateway. They deliver. Whew. Almost all done. Now we have to wonder if d-i-l's mother will get across the border. Her passport lapsed and there's a new law about current passports that started January 1st. Wouldn't that be a kick in the head if her mother was turned away by border guards after a drive up here from Boston? Looks like her father won't make it as the airfares from Boston are now $700 to $1000 for last minute booking. This Christening date was set even before little Quentin was born. Again, mouth shut.
P.S. That little suit Shelly posted is almost exactly like the one I chose, the one we're going to see in the morning. Great minds, huh!!
KaeEll, I would go insane if I didn't have my sewing machine. Interestingly enough, my oldest daughter (the last person I would have thought) has been very much into sewing for several years now (discovered it during college). She had bought one from her college's drama department (table and machine) for about $5.00!!! The problem is that it didn't have any automatic stitches, other than zig-zag because it the drama/costume students had to learn how to do these things WITHOUT the benefit of automatic stitches. Makes sense...
However, the thing finally died. I had decided to get her a new one for Christmas, and I had already purchased and wrapped it when she timidly asked if she could add one more thing to her wishlist: a sewing machine.
I had a good laugh...
Anyway, I bought her a really nice electronic Brother CS6000i with about sixty stitches, and an expandable surface to hold extra large pieces of fabric for projects such as quilting. I got it at Walmart for under $200.00! She LOVED it!
