Ick - a filler episode today, so don't turn yourself inside out trying to fit it into a busy day.
Kay has a series of flashbacks to her tumultuous past relationships as she talks to Amber about lost loves and mistakes. The two of them are bonding. And Lily is all dolled up for a modelling gig with Jabot. Super-bad hairdo. Just yuck.
Karen works on Neil to lighten up about both Lily's modeling and Cane. She sort of makes a bit of headway. Ho hum.
Some random guy (lawyer-type) arrives at the Chancellor house with an envelope for Kay and she hopes he has brought her good news. Oh, it's her doctor. Tells her she had a mild stroke, gives her advice to take it easy. Aha! Finally a good scene with Amber and Kay and more bonding. Kind of sweet. Kay says she has been inspired by Amber and now she knows exactly what she has to do.
Neil congratulates Lily on her shoot, says he won't hold her back any more. (Lots of Drucilla references today.)
Kay, as she sees Amber out the door, makes her promise to keep her condition a secret. Jill sees the private little exchange (didn't hear, though) and complains about coming home to 'that little wretch" (Amber). Kay defends Amber, says she really cheered her up. Then she tells Jill that she is going to make some serious changes. (This must be where she makes Niki head of Jabot and Jill CEO of CE.)
Neil tells Karen he has an idea about getting her over her stage fright. Kiss.
Amber watches Cane and Lily kiss, pouts.
Kay tells Jill that she's stepping down from CE, going on to the next phase of her life. Jill smells ulterior motives, badgers Kay about her health. Kay says she wants to write a book about her life. Jill's mortified. Hah! Kay thinks scandal is just the ticket for GC right now.
Next:
Neil tells Victor that he has, unfortunately, some bad news.
That damn piece of sh*t, Brad, asks Victoria if now that Nick has left the company, will she be taking over for him. Victoria is stunned. (Remember that the doctor warned Niki and Victor not to upset their daughter and they agreed to keep all the bad news from her for now.)
Neil looks on as Cane embraces a teary Amber. He's not pleased, has that "I KNEW it" expression on his face.
