This one's specifically for Kae I guess but if you guys have any ideas on it let me know lol.
I've been contemplating it, but not entirely sure if I should. I was considering doing the sunflower oil and then maybe even adding the tangerine oil to give me a bit more of a boost. Have you ever tried it? I think I'm going to pick up the sunflower oil before Aiden's party and then give some to my mom. She's always sick of course she's a smoker so yeah there's your first problem.
Jess, I've never mixed oils before, nor have I tried sunflower, either. Just as with the remedies I use, I'm a bit of a purist and don't mix anything there. But if it works for you, go for it!
Tangerine has that zippy edge to it. Might the sunflower kind of dilute that? That's what gives you the energy.
When I use lavender for relaxation, I buy the French stuff my homeopath gets - expensive but SO good, and a tiny bit goes a long way. I couldn't imagine mixing it with anything else. My son (Mike) gave me some satsumi oil he got from Body Shop before L'Oreal bought it out, and it was almost as good as the tangerine that I buy at a little shop on College and Spadina (here). No idea if L'Oreal buys good oils now, so I'd not recommend them from personal experience.
That makes so much sense with the sunfower and tangerin oil. Of course it wouldn't hurt to do one after the other. Or at differnet times in the day. The tangerine oilwould be perfect for mornings i bet. I think I'm going to make the treck to St. Louis to visit the homeopath that you recommended for me. I dont' get to go as much as I'd like because of the drive, but I think Brit has an appointment with her oncologist coming up and I might see if she'd like me to drive her so I'll just try to work my appt out ofr that day. Hmm maybe I can get her to go too. I'm sure she'd feel like a different girl after wards.
(We just got a call from Tony who said they will be delayed an hour!! Geez. My parents are driving themselves over soon, so I have a minute.)
Jess, if you've never been to a homeopath before, be prepared for at least an hour's initial visit. They'll ask you all sorts of questions you might think are ridiculous, but in order to find your constitutional remedy, it takes a while. My guess is it might be either Lachesis or Pulsatilla. But not Puls. if you aren't inclined to be weepy from time to time. I don't know that part of you.
Homeopathy can definitely help a person going through a rough patch with other health problems. Good luck to Brit!
P.S. not many h/paths are aromatherapists. If you find one, hang onto them. Mine is - am so lucky to have found her.
You're lucky lol. Around here in podunkville I was lucky to find a place to sell even herbals remedies and the like. I did find one other place. It's a wiccan shop but it has a lot of the things I want lol. Of course it's a little further away.
Here ya go, Tina. I don't do this, but instead use a little gizmo to heat the oils and smell them. I'll take a pic of the thingy for you, post it here in a few mnutes.
This little thing is from the Body Shop, but a lamp shade ring would work as well. I put the oil in the depression at the top, light a tea light candle beneath and in a few minutes, the room is filled with the aroma I want. Love, love my tulips! A touch of much needed spring, non?
Tina, it depends upon what kind of injury caused the scarring in the first place. The following are most commonly recommended:
If thick and unsightly, Graphites 6C.
If red and purplish, Lachesis 6C.
If the result of a burn, Causticum 6C.
I have never had any luck diminishing scars through homeopathy. I had 3 surgeries on my right knee and have a huge scar there. Nothing helped. Ditto toaster burns on my right arm.
When I use low potencies like the above, I always use Dr. Luc de Schepper's method of putting 2 pellets in a bottle of spring water, wait till dissolved,, taking an eye-dropperful from that stock bottle and dropping 4 to 6 drops in a small glass of spring water, then 1/2 teaspoon of THAT into my mouth. Otherwise I end up "proving" the remedy and that's not a good thing. But that's just me. I have no idea how sensitive you are to energy medicine. You'd need to see a pro for evaluation. Also, if you plan on taking the remedy over a period of time, a tablespoon of brandy should be added to the bottle to prevent it from going all stinky on you. You do not refrigerate homeopathic remedies, nor store in sunlight or near any strong aromas such as scented soaps or perfumes. Lots and lots of odd little rules! Some even insist upon no coffee at all when taking them, but I've never paid attention to that one. I used to give my husband his anti-a$$hole remedy IN coffee and it worked.
All subsequent doses have to be succussed before taking the drops out. That means that you must slam the bottle down on your palm two times to increase the potency. If you don't, the same potency of the remedy will not work. In fact, it can cancel out any progress already made.
wow so complicated. I got one scar from a dog bite, it was odd, it didn't rip my jacket but scarred my arm underneath
the second was when a table fell right on my foot, cutting a huge gash on it. The doctor only gave me two stitches and it took forever to heal. On occassion, it still hurts!
I used to heal so quickly when I was younger, I was such a tom boy. But now scars seem to last and last. I put vitamin E on them and everything.
I will try the health foods store for the Lachesis
I have a small scar from when I was ironing, odd because those usually heal. I burn myself nearly every time I iron!!!
You guys are going to laugh but my grandma uses all sorts of fun and crazy remedies and when I was little every summer I broke out terribly. I went to dermatologists and tons of doctors. They never really figured out what was wrong with me. Now they just chalk it up to being extremely allergic to all bug bites. Anyways I had the worst scars and my grandma would put rotate vitamin e oil and mary k face cream. You know the strong and stinky stuff. Oddly it worked. One time I had 2nd degree sun burn on my chest and nothing at all worked to ease the pain until she lathered me up in Mary K night cream. Hey it's worth a shot I guess ... if they even still make the stuff.
