Hey guys, its still a wee chilly here. Still no snow, but still cold. Not much going on here today, I have to take a test for my online class. Which means i definitely have to drop off my little one today. I will need to concentrate. Today is week 1 with no bubbly beverages. I think I will do okay with this one. Its nice, the things in the weight watchers book with the most amount of points (like fast food) I no longer eat anyways. I had Taco Bell Sunday and that was the last time for me.
We just spoke to Nick on Skype but lost connection after 20 minutes. That's the downside with Skype. But he's fine and will be home in just under 2 months. Laura is staying a full 30 days after him as her brother is going down to join her and travel around. Nick's big plans to travel to the interior seem to have evaporated. Anyway, he's safe.
Shelly - good girl! That fizzy give-up was hard. So proud of you!! Yay Shelly!!
Shelly I gave up the bubbly drinks a few years ago and rearely drink them anymore. To make things even more difficult, I did it while I was working at Taco Bell lol. You either have soda or "nastea". Luckily for me later down the line they got lemonade and fruitpunch as well.
It's worth it because now that I'm trying to lose weight again it's easy to get a start.
The fizzy give up is hard, but not as hard as the artificial sweetener give up will be. This past week we have had a lot of iced tea, but I can't drink it black. And we have had some crystal lite lemonade. Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I feel motivated about losing the weight I need in order to have another baby.
And I am so glad to hear that Nick is okay and that his plans to come home haven't changed. Nice to hear his girlfriend is going home too, albeit later. I bet you are just thrilled
OH yeah that must be hard. Maybe you could do a little bit of honey in your tea or ok this will sound really weird but I love to add orange juice to my iced tea. It's so good. Ok well I'm the only person that I know of that really likes it as much as I do but still I love it.
yeah, I could see how it would be good, but I have blood sugar issues. Not quite diabetic but if I don't watch it I will be. Hence why I don't use real sugar. I need to find a good herbal tea that is good without sweetener. I will boil that and make ice tea out of it.
Yes, it was good to talk to Nick. He seems to have put graduate school on hold for a year, though.
It's snowing again here, the big fat flakes kind of snow. I have a dentist appointment at 4, then over to help with with the kids. Yesterday I stayed until 7, got Vanessa into her jammies and fed while the little guy was having some kind of colic thing and screamed for an hour. Lotsa fun. What a set of lungs!
I'll turn on Y&R in a few. Jess, are you watching it? You mentioned that you were recording it.
Shelly, make a simple syrup solution of sugar and water for your ice tea. A touch of sugar won't hurt the diet. Cut back gradually until all you want is the trace of sweetness in your tea. I always use honey instead, but I drink hot tea and it melts fast. Don't think it would work in cold tea.
Yup I've been watching it. I semi watched yesterday while I tried to get my nose to drain in bed lol. I really like it. I wasn't all that lost when I tuned in either. I like that.
I took an infant massage course with my first son, it helped to rub the tummy to get rid of that gas that causes colic
I gave up pop/soda years ago! I rarely buy it, unless we are having people over. My son drinks it when it's in the house and doesn't know how to limit!
get a Britta filter pitcher for your fridge, then you will be more likely to drink water all day
There's some kind of sweetner called stevia at the health food stores, you could give that a try. I believe it's made from real sugar.
I hit the grocery store, but am putting off my other errands until Thursday when Gabi will be in school Although on Thursday, she's having some sort of Valentine thing, not sure how much free time I'll get.
We have to finish our taxes , but had a question on our HSA. It's great to know we are getting a good refund! Usually goes for bills though!
I want some new couches, or one new L couch. I would love to use it as a down payment on a smaller car but that won't happen. I imagine the check and our rebate check will go to bills. Blah..
