What will Wednesday bring????

Hi all!

I really hope Wednesday is much better for me than Tuesday was! And by the looks of some of the posts from Tuesday, I hope it's better for some of you too! Tina, did you ever get the gas smell out of your pants? Jess, are you feeling lots better today?

Tuesday was a long one with my boss. We butted heads all day, and I finally just decided to keep the mouth shut and not try to state a case as to why I thought the way I was doing something was just fine, as my other boss had reassured me.

Then, Jackson's school called to inform me they had found a knife in his backpack. Apparently, he swiped a kitchen knife before we left Tuesday morning. He wasn't in trouble, they, and I, had a long talk with him about how very bad that was of him to do. Scary, no? He had no intentions of hurting anyone, so I have no idea why he took it with him. He's not playing with his toys for a few days as a result.

Add in some pain in the ass phone calls, and it was a long, crap day.

What's in store for everyone today? More bad weather?

My goodness Jojo I sure hope you have a better Wednesday. If nothing else Wednesday is a good humpday for the rest of the week. Only 2 more days. We got a little bit of snow, not enough to fuss over but enough that we /I got a phone call at 530 this morning while hubby was in the shower that said their work was delayed an hour. These guys look for any excuse not to work. Sheesh, but Vinnie being the weird guy that he is got out there at about 6 and shoveled the walkway. Nice, finally we get snow and he is actually here to do the hardwork.

I am off to play housekeeper at the hotel, inspecting the rooms is blah but it provides me with easy exercise running around the hotel. So thats good. I got to make sure I record GH today, its looking good

Jojo thank good ness your school is understanding! Sometimes they can be so strict, and I understand why of course, but other times they go over board

Good luck with your boss today

And Shelly good luck with housecleaning. Tell us the truth about how clean the hotel rooms really are!

It's only 1 degree today, had no idea it would be cold again.

Had more snow. I feel like I'm in Siberia

I only have one appointment later, might return the stuff I had intended for yesterday, and yet, why go out unless it's an emergency!!!

I'll be here most of the day I think. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRweirdface.gif

Oh and I might just throw those pants out, but the gas smell is on my boots, in my van and in my laundry room, slightly. Sickening!!

Today we're supposed to have a high 50s day but then tomorrow 20s with snow. Who knows anymore.

Anyways, nothing exciting here as per usual.

OH I meant to tell you Tina I had that problem last year. The silly old man of mine left a container of gas in the back of our truck .. men lol. Well of course it got spilled on my new and favorite (still favorite actually) shirt. I had just gotten especially because I was nursing and wanted something easy to wear while nursing but still cute. Well of course it was the last one in my size so I wasn't giving it up.

It will come out I can guarantee that. I soaked my clothes in some lovely lavendar scented Febreeze then made sure to add some of the Bouce liquid (I can't remember the exact name of the stuff but it's lilac or something it smells divine i love it because when I do laundry the whole house smells like the stuff) fabric softener in the ball to the laundry for good measure I put a little bit in my "infected clothes" on the spots. I didn't use too much water when I washed them. They came out smelling lovely.

The husband decided to put his two cents in lol he says if you put vodka on it it'll fix your problem ... Sounds like something a wino might say lol.

And this is what I found when I was searching for the fix last year. I didn't have any vinegar at al in the house so I just sayed forget it lol.

cups apple cider vinegar (smells nicer than other vinegar)
4)run normal cycle
5)drink the two beers
Then you are back to playing with engines!

My grammy told me at the time that if I just put them out on the line for a few days the gas will evaporate ... don't see that working out so well considering the snow.

Yesterday was a sh*t day for me too. It must have been in the stars. And even more snow. A record year since 1932.

Jojo - keeping mouth shut is a hard lesson, but pick your issues carefully, non? The last thing you need is to be out of work right now. Little boys do strange things, that's for sure. Good that the school didn't flip out over the kitchen knife.

Tina - no idea how to get rid of gasoline smell other than fresh air and time.

Jess - thanks for the adorable pics of Aidin's bd celebration. A whole year! Good grief - tempus fugit.

Shelly - do we really want to know how clean hotel rooms are or aren't? Argh.

I think I'll stay in today too. It would take me an hour anyway just to clean off my car. Ted's still out shovelling, has been out there since before 7 - that's 2 hours. So much snow, it's insane. Even the doggies are sick of it. When we let them out, they pee right on the path, not venturing out as they usually do, then immediately back to the door. Poor babies, lol.

We just got a light dusting of snow here. I am kinda hoping for another good snow so that Bethany can finally get to make a snowman. We were all to sick to make snowmen when we had snow and then when we finally got better .. stupid rain came. Lol I'm gonna be in big trouble with goldi locks if it doesn't snow again.

Change in plans for today. D-i-l called and she's at her wits end with the little almost 3 year old who has fully grasped the sweet taste of victory in power struggles with mommy. As if we hadn't seen this one coming! So I'm off to help her out again this afternoon from 3 till 6, then home for Thai order-in. Tony's supposed to return tonight from NYC but with all this snow, will the flights be landing?

I've ranted on before about the Montessori methods and how impractical they can be. Finally, it's registered with my son and his poor beleaguered wife! You can not allow a 3 year old to call the shots, no matter how much "discovery" it might entail for them. Boot camp time around their house, I'm afraid. This ain't going to be pretty!!!

How do you gals with little ones maintain order and discipline at home? Did you ever have to use Super Nanny techniques to restore sanity? Did you ever have a full-fledged holy terror on your hands?

Kae I wish I had a MIL like you, that would run over and help out with the kids!! Especially if I decide to go to work PT or something, I could use a hand with school pick ups and such.

Still damn cold here, I can't take it anymore!

Did I tell you all I asked my hubby to go to marriage counselling and he says its a waste of money, that we can do it ourselves. Ok wonder if he will consider self help if he has cardiac arrest?????

I have the jeans outside after to washer loads and vinegar. Should have just tossed them...

Other clothes have a slight odor, dumb of me to wash it all together. Would have thought the gas would just wash right out. Lesson Learned!

hotel rooms actually aren't too bad. But if you don't bring your own blanket make sure to sleep between the sheets and not on either of the blankets. We wash them more then the once a year that you hear about but not much more. Its a little gross. Other then that the rooms are clean.

We had snow overnight but today it has evolved into more rain, blech I am SO tired of rain.

Well I can tellyou that the only one of my kids even close to a holy terror was Cody when we finally moved out of my mom's. He was used to being cock of the walk there, and I've never been a prponent of that. I was allowed to be the boss probably much like your grand daughter. I was a very spoiled little girl.

Anyways I did have to et a bit super nanny on Cody and may have to wtih Bethany but she's such a sweet heart lol. I will say first that I'm not a huge fan of time outs because they didn't work well for Cody. It made things even worse considering he literally couldn't stand to stay still. If your littl eone is ok with it then go for it. I had to resort to taking away toys and then allowing him the chance to earn them back. On weeks that he didn't lose any priveledges or toys at all he got something special. Not something big and huge but a little something like maybe a special dessert or we'd rent an extra kiddie movie. Usually I'm not big on rewarding kids for doing what they should do normally, but for him that wasn't the norm. The norm was doing what he wants and not listening to anyone and just getting away with it.

It will be so hard because it will break her heart because right now she's in the mindset that she's not doing a thing wrong. She will pout and cry, and probably say you're being mean to her. Let's just hope she isn't like Cody. Oh that boy was too smart at his young age and slightly manipulative.

One time at Wal Mart, he was being a terror. I told him no to something and that if he didn't shape up he wasn't getting dessert from the ice cream shop (we usually did that on Fridays). Well he screamed bloody murder .. "you're hurting me! You're hurting me! Help help help!" I really couldn't have hurt him then. Oh and then if I made him hold my hand he made sure to shout you're squeezing and breaking my bones. They all thought I was abusive I'm sure. Oh well he got over it and quick lol.

I had to be extremely strict with him the first 2 weeks also because if I wasn't I knew he would walk all over me. ONce we got our boundaries established I was able to lighten up.

I'd be sick of all that rain too, but at least you don't have to shovel it. :)

Always wondered about bedspreads and blankets at hotels. I'll pass that little gem of wisdom along to Tony who is spending more and more time out of town these days. He'll freak out, lol.

Thanks, Jess, We posted at the very same time and I didn't see what you wrote when I was answering Shelly.

Vanessa is having the same problem Cody did because she's been de-throned by the baby. She was used to SO much attention from her mommy (big mistake to begin with), then suddenly, she couldn't have it. Her tantrums are getting out of control. I espouse the use of a spray of ice water in a screaming kid's face to snap them out of it. But I think we'll be trying time outs AND toy removals. Vanessa is pretty naughty, and she's hurting the baby - kicking him in the head, scratching, punching, squeezing him, sitting on him, breaking his swing, trying to break his car seat.....sigh. It's making my d-i-l so upset and frustrated. For the first time yesterday, I saw her snap and tell the little girl that she was driving her crazy. Vanessa laughed. Not cute.

I expect that by using a baby gate on her bedroom door and removing any toys in there that she could use as a ladder, she'll eventually succumb and stay put, but it's going to be a real battle royal.

Shall keep you posted. I have to get ready now to go over there. Ugh. (I love my son. That's the ONLY reason I can do this.)

very true about shoveling, I am a wee sad though because what little snow we got last night has all been washed away. And at least with snow your not usually soaked going from your car to your house. I just want some sun, I feel like I should live in Seattle.

Anyways, housekeeping today had to have burned crazy calories so I am not off to the gym today. I think I will take a nap for a half an hour. Thats the stinky part about the rain is that its all gloomy and the only thing I want to do is sleep.

I hear you loudly and clearly on the burning mad calories. A friend form Floyd's work sent us some stuff she doesn't use now that she's moved and is in the process of down sizing. So we got a very very cute new dresser for Bethany's room. We moved the bigger bed to her room. We got a very nice headboard for our bed which is on the porch right now lol. Will be moving it in shortly. Had to clean her horrible room before moving everything around. Now we have to move some of Aidens stuff from Cody's room to the dressers we moved to our room. Was going to leave Aidens goodies in his and Cody's room, but Cody's such a slob I don't trust his stuff in there yet.
