Hey guys. I decided not to go into work today. Haha, guess thats the benefit of not being paid, it doesn't really matter if I don't show up. And I have school work to do. Though when I am at home its a lot harder to stay on my diet.
I think that since I gave up bubbly drinks it may have made me more thirsty. Or one of the vitamins I am taking is. Something is making me crazy thirsty. I have an appointment with an ENT to see if I have a deviated septum or whatever else is wrong with my nose. Maybe thats why I am so thirsty.
What are you guys up too, this place is so dead. We need to have a subject for everyone to chat about...
Cleaning lady is here, vacuuming, scrubbing, dogs barking at squirrels on the porch. As soon as Maria is done, I'm going to help my d-i-l with the kiddies as Tony's away again in NYC until Friday night. I'll pick up Ted from the subway around 7, then head home for dinner, although I have no idea yet what that will be.
Yeah, it is quiet around here, isn't it? Sometimes I think we're all too polite. There was a hot topic on politics yesterday, but none of us would really lay into it. I know that if I really said what I thought, it'd tick a few of you sweet kids off. So I stayed pretty much out of it. Besides, as a Canadian, it's not really my realm, although 5 of my immediate family DO vote as they are either dual citizens, or all American. I'm the only all-Canadian in the lot of us.
Gotta go dry my hair before it goes all fuzzy. Back in a bit.
aww Kae you should have jumped in on the political one. I was actually hoping that Moore would. I would have loved her incite since she has lived in the DC area..and you wouldn't have to worry about ticking me off, I was a Bush supporter for many years and am use to being on the defense about it
Bush doesn't have much respect from 90% of us up here. My husband says he's mortally embarrassed by him, and swears he could never have stayed in the country after the reelection, had we been living there at the time. There is so much disgust towards Bush from Canadians in general, that we find it difficult to understand how on earth he has any supporters at all.
We're a much more liberal society here, and certainly not much of a military force except in peace-keeping. In fact, our most right-wing politicians are still far left of American democrats, believe it or not. And there is no such creature in Canada that would even compare to a right-wing republican, at least not any more. There was a party called Reform that came out of red-neck Alberta several years back, but it disappeared after a short time. Thank goodness!
I think I mainly just support him because I spent enough time in the Navy being told that you could get in a lot of trouble for saying bad things about our Commander in Chief. So while I didn't agree with anything he did or said supporting him was just something that we do. I actually know a lot of people by where I live (all military and military spouses) who do support him. I don't agree with most of the things he has done, its actually the sole reason why I would never vote for McCain. He is almost a carbon copy.
I can certainly understand military people wanting to support the guy responsible for sending them into battle, or even not. Biting the hand that feeds is never a good idea, lol. It's not as if they were conscripted into service either. So no need to justify that!
Bush comes off as a moron, though. He can barely speak English properly, misuses words, is the butt of numerous jokes about it internationally. He might be good to his women and men in the forces, but he still looks like an idiot to the rest of us. I can still hear him yammering on about "weapons of mass destruction", slurring his words, not in a drunken way but inarticulately. So he looks like a liar and a moron. Not a good role model or leader, in MHO.
But then again, we live up here. It's different. After spending lots of time living in both countries, my husband and I agree that other than sharing a language, the two countries are as different from one another as Sweden is from Romania. It's neither good nor bad, it's just the way it is.
Bush really doesn't sound smart at all lol. I really can't believe he was voted in agian. I would love to move to Canada. Oh it would be great lol Ok actually I'd rather move to Japana .. I'd be of average height there.
