Funny opening as Sharon and Jack arrive home to a huge mess, and nobody home. Seems everybody took off to the hospital with Gloria leaving the remnants of the dinner party behind.
JT talks Victoria into moving into Nick and Sharon's old place at the ranch. When they agree, they break the news to Niki who is pleased for them. She and David are moving into a suite at the club.
Phyllis gushes over Nick's new vocabulary as he makes plans for their mag office. Kisses.
Vic Jr. at Victor's office, big surprise as kid asks for a job on a trial basis, see if they work well together. His boss at the big NYC bank granted him an extended leave. Victor beams with delight. Jr. makes it clear that he isn't there looking for a father, it is a career move. More beaming from Victor. (So what do you think of this Jr.?) Kid says he'll start tomorrow morning, AND he wants to use his middle name, Adam. (Thank goodness. It's a pain typing Vic Jr, lol.)
JT goes back to work, leaving bored Victoria with Reed at CL.
Enter Kevin, Lauren and Michael, tell Sharon and Jack about the hospital incident and in come Gloria and Jeff. Gloria says docs found nothing wrong with her at all. Kevin's perplexed. Jeff's hilarious! Love the expression on Sharon's face too.
As the Fisher Baldwins leave, Michael notes that he smells a rat here, that Kevin acted like he expected Gloria to have actually HAD something wrong with her.
haha, LMAO at Gloria. And Jeff is too amusing. I like the new Newman, though yesterday there was a scene with him where I almost thought he looked a lot like Cane
Nick finds Victoria at CL, chit chat. He can see how discontent his sister is, then congratulates her for the decision to move into his old place. She's going into work for a while tomorrow - she feels isolated, bored and lonely, so work it has to be.
Phyllis expresses her concern about Brad working at Jabot to Niki who defends him. (Niki really has lost her smarts, non?)
Victor and Adam again. More happy, happy Victor.
Haha, Jef fusses over Gloria, Jack and Sharon enter. More fun from Jeffery. Love this! Oh, and now Sharon suggests they use the spy cam to check out what Jeff and Gloria are really up to. But, it's missing!
Victor calls the GCAC, says Adam Wilson (kid) will be checking in, give him the works, send him the bills.
Niki sees that that mystery guy they met before, (the guy dunning David) has left a message for them to have dinner. David says he's not a friend but a pain in the ass. Oh, okay. Adam bellies up the the GCAC bar and orders a ginger ale.
Kevin calls his mom, says ditch Bardwell and get over to CL asap!
Phyllis and Adam small talk at the CGAC bar, then he hits on her. Phyllis points out her wedding ring. Oops.
Gloria steals out of the Abbott house to go meet Kevin.
Victoria stops by with Reed to visit her dad. Blah, blah. filler scene.
Gloria and Kevin try to figure out what went wrong - she should have had tons of poison in her system. Both are puzzled.
Aha! Sharon sees Jeff take the spy cam out of the flower arrangement in the dining room and remove the cartridge.
(Love all the sneaking around at the Abbotts. So funny.)
Kevin tests the "poison" and realises that it's water.
Jeff confronts Gloria about poisoning herself to turn the tables on him, admits he switched the poison for water. Jeff says the whole thing has energized him. He's up for another round, snorts out a challenge to her. She's mortified. Love it! Good scene.
Victor tells Victoria about hiring Adam Wilson, his son with Hope. She kind of harumphs at the news.
Phyllis tells Nick about the guy at the bar hitting on her. Kisses. (oh, the irony, eh, lol.)
Next:
Victoria bursts into her father's office next morning, calls out, "Dad, I'm back" to find Adam Wilson sitting in her father's desk chair.
Jeff tells Gloria that he has a way of getting the Abbotts to abandon the house, bit there is one condition.
Victoria phones her mother with something to tell her, something that she hasn't even told JT yet.
About the new Newman kid, Adam, I kind of get the feeling that he might be a chip off the old block, and not in a good way. That one scene in the preview of him sitting in Victor's chair, as if he had plans of his own to take over, just grabbed me. He might be that Kansas farm kid who orders ginger ale at a hotel bar, but I think he's got a dark side to him as well. Maybe it'll be Victoria that sees that first.
(Not that there's anything wrong with ginger ale, but it's so unsophisticated. If you wanted non-alcoholic something, there are plenty of other things to order that have more style. I got the impression that the ginger ale was supposed to be a little hint that Adam ain't what he seems.)
