It's snowing again. And I slept in after Ted 's taxi came to take him to the airport. He'll be back by 6 - just a hop to Ottawa for meetings, and as long as the airport is okay, he'll be home for dinner. This is my mother's usual spa day routine, me chauffeuring, then home for puppy-pee time, then helping d-i-l with kiddies.

Nick forwarded to me his acceptance to Bond University in Gold Coast for the Master of Finance programme, with the header "FYI". I haven't responded yet because I certainly don't want to encourage him to stay down there. Argh.

Mike's having a great time in LA - he drove down to San Diego and surfed there yesterday and loves the university campus in La Jolla. Tony's still in NYC. Am I doomed to have my babies far away????

Ack - it's 10 o'clock and I have to be out of here in an hour - haven't done a darn thing yet. Laundry is piling up, the patio has to be cleared for the pups, car un-buried. Gah, so sick of winter.

Its actually snowing here too, been snowing almost constantly since around 5 this morning. I think that we will get more snow today then we have gotten all season. I am happy that the plows are actually finally out plowing. When I left this morning they hadn't plowed our street. Vinnie said he shoveled the driveway, if he hadn't told me I wouldn't have known.

I am at work and we have had a lot of people call down to stay another day so that they don't have to drive whereever they are going in this weather. I will never understand why someone would plan a spring break in February but they all deserve to have there vacations ruined because of it.

Im reading the new SOD, nothing too good yet. Though Kae it says that Jeffrey and Gloria will get hot and heavy soon. My money is that she is going to love it.

Well, yesterday I had my appointment with the doctor for help with weight loss stuff. I wasn't so sure about talkinga bout it because everyone says I look ok and I am just short and that doesn't help etc... and I understand that and all, but I see my mom and she scares the crap outta me. She doesn't eat well, ntough and I do, but I still can't take the weight off. NO matter how many crunches or how much I exercise, even all of the herbal help has failed. I'm just so tired of the let down, so I went to my doctor. I don't usually get to see him because he's a very very good doctor. One of those docs who are open to all sorts of medicine, and not just the traditional medicine.

I was honestly really scared, becasue I had one time mentioned it to the nurse practitioner that I usually have to see, and she just said to use asmaller plate etc.. So of course that did me no good. I felt like I had just been told you eat too much stop eating, and for this to come from another woman, one who was over weight (not a lot but some) herself. So mad. So My doctor was wonderful yesterday. My husband and I both had appointments so we just went in (kids and all lol) together and he saw us at the same time. He is running all of my blood work. Seriously like everything lol. He's also getting me tin to see a dietician on Wednesday to get me on a medically supervised diet, to see if maybe we can find something that works that I havent't tried or don't know about. I love what he said though. He sees my mom and all of the kids, and he said that some people just can't take it off no matter how hard they try, and sometimes this happens after having children. I was having no problem losing weight before Aiden came along lol, and now no luck no matter what. He said it's no one's fault (except my husband for knocking me up lol). It was just so comforting and good to talk to him. It was more like a counseling session than anything lol. So long story short, I might end up getting the lap band.

I told him that gastric bypass was totally and completely off of the table, becasue it scares me lol, so he told me that he thought I would be a good candidate for lap band if the diet doesn't work. Of course that's our last ditch effort. Honestly I'm hoping they'll find something wrong with my thyroids or something. Something easy to explain it all and easy to fix. He gave me information on everything. INfo on thyroids, metabolic issues, diets that might work for me, I feel like I'm an expert on everything. So Wednesday the 27th is my first day with my dietician, and I'm really excited. I feel like I have someone in my corner now lol, who is going to really help me figure out what is going on with my body and find a way to fix it.

I'm even not so worried about the lap band stuff. He gave me literature on it, referred me to web sites, and I'm talking to a girl at Floyd's work who had it done as well. The thought kinda freaks me out, but at the same time, a lot of people have done it. A lot of people needed it too, and I really think that if it helps it's worth it. Diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, heart disease, you name it runs in my mom's side of the family, and being overweight adds to the risk. The doctor said he wants to help me get this weight off before I have any problems with these things.

Floyd's on board as well. I love that he keeps telling me he'll love me not matter what and that I'm beautiful how I am, but he also understands that the weight issue scares me to death. So h e's totally behind it. I'm pretty sure the insurance will cover, and if not, he said he'd find a way. So wish me luck. I'm really crossing my fingers that it's a thyroid thing.

We got lucky with the weather, and ended up mostly with freezing rain rather than snow. It's rather nasty, but not as bad as it might have been!

I had a fairly cozy evening last night, in front of the fire, until I decided to put on ONE LAST LOG, and the thing began to pop like the 4th of July. My dog freaked out! So, I spent the last hour of my nice, peaceful evening trying to calm my poor, frantic beast.

I'm slow getting into my morning (like KaeEll); my husband called soon after I got up, and he's having a wonderful time with our daughter. She made dinner (she's a fabulous cook, by the way), had the apartment in meticulous order, and they watched the debates together. He has no clue what the plans are for today, but I think it's basically going to be "hanging"... She doesn't have classes today, so it's wide open!

OH---!!! This is hysterical... Our daughter's boyfriend has apparently been somewhat "discovered" (I don't think I told you guys this) by a former agent for models. The woman was a VP in a well-known agency which was ultimately sold to Ford Modelling in NYC. She (I can't remember what my daughter said her name was, but she's legit) has relocated to Arizona...

Anyway, one of this woman's colleagues happened to see Sean, and went crazy because he reminded the guy of one of their male supermodels from about fifteen years ago. The woman, now retired from the business, didn't want to get dragged back in again, but releted when her colleague pointed Sean out to her. They twisted Sean's arm into doing a photo shoot, and the woman told him that if he EVER wanted to make a career of this, she could get him represented by Ford with the snap of her fingers!

Sean, of course, thinks that the whole thing is a huge joke, but now an Arizona branch of Ford is pestering him. CRAZY, isn't it???

He's a sweet guy, and I don't think that he's interested in pursuing this. He's actually interested in joining the Peace Corps which is a little different from making a career in front of a camera!

Okay, I guess that I'd better go do something productive...

Jessica I am so happy to hear that your appointment went so well. And as bad as it sounds i hope that they find something wrong with your blood too...The thyroid thing is pretty easy to fix. I have seen a dietician and they are great too. Its a little irritating though when you see one who is super skinny. But they do help.

It is STILL snowing. I am thinking of heading home early so that I can get home safely without rushing.

Jessica, weight watchers worked well for me

I am currently losing more weight because I'm too upset to eat, and when I try to eat I can barely choke the food down!

My size 8's are falling off me, I'm not sure if I should spend money on size 6. I mean eventually I'll eat again.

Cool beans. I really hope something works. My family is terribly predisposed to being over weight. I went along with my mom on the weight watcher's diet when I was young. Neither of us saw big changes. I think honestly each differnt diet works with everyone in a different way. Some people do well with atkins, some do well with weight watchers, and tohers do well with something different all together.

I did so great with my limited calorie diet recently but it didn't do me much good lol. Now i'm gaining it all back on the same diet. What a bummer. Maybe the snow is making me fat lol. You know it hasn't snowed quite like this in a while, and haven't had such a hard time gaining weight ... yeah don't ya love my twisted logic.
