Wednesday

Gabi starts swimming lessons today! Those are fun

Ed's dad wants me to take his son back because they don't want him in their house, he shows no concern that his son is an alcoholic and abusive to me and the kids. They just don't want him there!

Another blustery cold day here at -10C (about 14 degrees F) and it's going down to -20C tonight (-4 F). What the heck??!!

I'm off on errands shortly, possibly right after Y&R. There's laundry, light housework and very little else. All my good friends are far away right now. One's in Manchester, another's in Auckland, and one's in Budapest. I'm feeling kind of stagnated and lonesome - feeling sorry for myself, actually. It'll pass. (sigh)

I didn't get anything but a grunt from hub last night when he read the estimate for the lower level bathroom, so I took that as a go-ahead. Next step is to Home Depot to choose the granite and have the vanity top template made. That takes 3 to 4 weeks. The contractor can begin on Monday!

Doesn't seem like we have much of a soap board here anymore, does it? Do any of us watch any of them now? Of course, I'm still enjoying Y&R but haven't bothered with OLTL in quite a while. I'm assuming that some of the original posters here that have vanished have given up on soaps too.

So what's on the agenda for today?

Kae I do watch GH and Y&R still. Don't care so much about the other 2 ABC shows. Though I watched Bold and the Beautiful yesterday and its still pretty good. Your right though, aside from when Brandon posts the spoilers we hardly even talk about soaps anymore. I wish that more of us watched GH. Right now I think its just me, Jess and Brandon and I think he is busy at work so doesn't chat soaps like he use to.

Today I worked for a few hours. Had to be home early because we are suppose to be having our dishwasher looked at and our damned housing office gave me a 4 hour window. Insane. I will be a little upset if they don't get here til 4 and I missed out on 3 hours of work.

Now I am off to unload the dishwasher so that he can look at it while its empty, and to make some tea. Kae you will have to send pics when your bathroom is done.

I watch the soaps a bit, nothing much to say about them

Todd has something on Ramsey, but not sure I care.

KaeEll -- sometimes I wish that my husband had been a plumber! Ironically, although he knows how to electricity, and is handy with carpentry too (among other useful things), plumbing is one of those things that he should never get near!

I always cringe whenever we have a plumbing issue; they are always the most expensive!

It has been freezing-cold here today too, and I've been a bit under the weather. I really really really needed a prescription for some antibiotics this morning (awoke with a nasty UTI), and it took my doctor's office SIX FREAKIN' HOURS to deal with this. The last time this happened to me (four weeks ago), it took seven hours. In the meantime, I was in major discomfort, and missed (both times) one entire does of meds that could have helped during the day.

I'm not happy about it either!

My husband arrives tomorrow afternoon, and I'm really looking forward to seeing him. I'm not sure that he's ready to give up the California sunshine, though, for our fridig temperatures.

6 hours Moore? That's insane! I hope you gave them an earful!

Kae, how exciting your renovations can start soon! And I'm sorry you are feeling so blue with friends being gone. Will any of them being coming home soon?

Tina, tell Ed's father that he's their son, deal with him!

I had lots of work today, but I got through most of it. I brought the work laptop home to finish up a few odds and ends.

I don't want a lot of soaps anymore. I'm rather disenchanted with them. I catch OLTL from time to time, but all I end up wanting to do is change the channel. Funny, because a friend on another board thinks it's really excellent right now. Uh, okay.

Go JoJo...!!! Great post; you got right to the heart of it all.

Yeah, six hours this time, and seven hours the last time. The thing is that the doctor is a great guy, and an excellent doctor. It's the prescription issue that continually falls into limbo.

I started out this morning (at 11:15-ish) very sweetly. Then, the office closed for lunch. At 1:15, I shot in a second call (now nearly two hours later), and it was not sweet, but neutral. At 2:00 pm, I got a reply call saying that the doctor was with a patient, but they would call in the prescription as soon as possible.

At 3:30 pm, I called my pharmacy, and they'd heard nothing. I called my doctor's office again, and left another message.

At 4:30, I was majorly pissed, and left an angry message.

At 5:30, the nurse called all chipper, and said that the prescription had been called in. That's when I burst into tears (I tend to cry when I'm frustrated, not so much when I'm sad), and told her that this was the second time that I'd had to wait all day, in major discomfort, for a simple prescription, and that I'd missed an entire dose as a result of their delay.

Once might be understandable, but twice? And, my husband has gone through this too...

Smart doctor, crappy office follow-through!

Moore I think that happens a lot. Great doctors get stuck with crappy office staff. My mom has the same problem. Though I don't know if she has ever had to wait 6 hours for something that seems so simple.
Anyways, I hope that the medicine kicks in fast for ya

Thanks Moore!

I'm so sorry you had to wait all day for your prescription! How horrible! I do hope with the prescription now you can get much better. I have had a UTI and they are NOT fun. Many warm hugs and fuzzies for getting well soon!
