Soo here is what irritates me about this holiday, and others really. See the schools here in Groton had this past Friday off, in honor of Good Friday. And yet they can't say the word God in the Pledge of Allegience. This annoys me.

Anyways, Happy Easter everyone. I am bummed because I wanted to go buy a nice dress for the holiday but its entirely way too cold for a dress. Ugh.

Anyways, what are your plans. Anyone have suggestions on how to make deviled eggs more interesting?

Easter Sunday

The phone rang last night at 2 a.m. - wrong number! It scared the dickens out of us so we had a rough night's sleep but were up early to finish setting the table and polish more silver. (Well I did anyway. Ted always watches yicky political shows Sunday mornings.) I have given myself an hour off to have another cup of coffee and bum until it's noon when I'll be back in the kitchen.

Here's the menu for four o'clock:
Brie, Havarti, biscuits
Fresh fruit and raw veg with dip

Roast boneless leg of lamb with mint sauce and jelly
Roasted potatoes
Butternut squash
Fresh peas with ginger
Whole wheat crescent rolls

Dark and white chocolate mousse (from a bakery)
Tea

Ack! I forgot to make the dip!

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday everybody! The sun's out here today. Yay!!

Shelly, I actually like my deviled eggs fairly straightforward, but I do add just a little bit of mustard, and a dash of cayenne pepper. You could also add a squeeze of lemon juice, if you wanted to...

There is absolutely nothing worse than a phone call in the middle of the night!

KaeEll, your menu sounds delicious, and if I could figure out how to get all the way up to Toronto in time for your meal, I'd be there, and I would even bring my own fork so you wouldn't have to polish it.

Yeah my mom puts mustard in her eggs too. Hadn't thought of cayenne. Would give it a bit of a bite. I need to look to make sure we have some paprika for the garnish. I might get up in a second and start peeling the eggs. We aren't having dinner until 6 so we will be out a little late. Having dinner at a friends house. Good thing about military communities is that none of us have family around do we just spend time together.

Hey all! Happy Easter!

I merged the threads, Kae. They merged weird, but they merged nonetheless.

I had a nice dinner out with the brother and sister in law. It was yummy. Jackson had fun hunting eggs yesterday, and the Easter Bunny left him "clues" to find his gifts this morning. He had a blast!

I'm not doing anything special for dinner, since it's just me and Jackson. Probably just some smoked sausage with some yummy sides. I've been munching all weekend on my jalapeno jelly-cream cheese dip.

I use mustard, lemon and cayenne in my deviled eggs too, Moore! So yummy!

We went to my grandma's and were going to go to my aunts but get this ... it was snowing!!! It has snowed off and on all day. It was so weird because on the way home we'd be driving and look over an din the field it was snowing but the road was sunny and bright. What a crazy day.
