We bought a time share! sort of!

we went to this big sales presentation yesterday, and my husband said on the way, "we are not buying"

well we liked what we saw, my in laws own time shares, so we bought!

Then we got a number to get one cheaper today! Someone who is selling privately that is coming down on their price, and it's an even better deal.

So we cancelled our purchase, you apparently have 3 days....

Also we are thinking of putting Zach in a Catholic grade school, so have to figure out how to swing that too!

Crazy right!

Tina, when we owned a house in Hilton Head on the Shipyard Plantation, our little community was wonderful. Then the developer built a unit that he sold as time shares and the place was ruined. We sold our house a year later after loving it for 10 years. Be very careful!!

I don't want to smear all time sharers with the same muck as those we experienced, but you do need to be super cautious about the development. Where were you looking?

It's called Silverleaf Resort www.silverleafresorts.com. It's about a 30 minute drive from our house, we can use it any time for free, even stay the night during the week for free. AND We still get our 1 week ownership, which is through RCI, which means it can be used anywhere nationally and some international.

My inlaws have one with RCI and it's great. You can go to San Diego one year, Hawaii the next, or roll it over, sell it, or go to Rome. You stay in a 2 bedroom suite with kitchen, no matter which destination you choose.

So it's like having a country club with swimming and golf, just a short drive away, and the one week time share that we can use someplace different each year.

Also we can use all their resorts for $50 a night. Some in Texas, one in Georgia, one in Orlando Florida.

It's a never expiring deed, it can be willed to our children.

So even better than the ones my in laws bought.
