It's Saturday!!

So what's up guys?

We're having a little telephone problem, here. When Nick hauled his skis out of the furnace room Thursday afternoon, he accidentally bonked the telephone box on the ceiling and screwed up the wiring. Now we have no phone working in the den and no line in Ted's office. The fax line rings in the kitchen, thanks to Ted and my father's handiwork last night. The phone company guy was here an hour ago to fix it all, but Ted sent him away, convinced he can make it right himself without the $72 fee the phone company would charge. Sigh.

The kids sent me a text message at 4 in the morning from Squaw Valley Lodge, said they'd call today. We figured they would arrive there by 5, so they made good time on the drive up to Tahoe from the airport.

Today is just the usual Saturday chores, shopping, getting my parents' garden furniture out of their garage, etc.

It's a sunny, warm day. Yay!!

It's gorgeous here too, and I THINK that I can finally -- confidently -- say that spring is here to stay!

My husband had to rush out to help his sideline business partner with a computer crisis! Her hard drive fried, and they're on a deadline with a client... Not a good time for that to have happened.

It's turtle tank time again, and I've been avoiding it, but just can't put it off any longer. I guess I'll be dipping myself in Clorox again, later today. Ewwwww...!!!

what a Saturday this has turned out to be...My sister had volunteered to do some kind of painting on a guys house for her company and apparently fell off the ladder. Well I guess she broke her hand pretty good...They are keeping her overnight and will do the surgery in the morning. So I am stuck at home with the 2 girls and the dog. Joy...I guess its a good thing that I had already decided to stay until Monday...I will just be crazy bored

Last night I finally saw I am Legend and what a disappointment that was...I am quite certain that it is the worse Will Smith movie I have ever seen. The worse part is we stayed up until midnight to finish it...on the brighter note we also saw the Chipmunk movie yesterday and it was perfect...Very cute and good movie for Jason Lee.

I guess I am going to rest for an hour or so before Sharon's boyfriend calls to tell us where she is staying.

Oh, Shelly. That's terrible... I'm so sorry!

I'm sure that she probably tried to catch herself reflexively with her hand; I have a friend who recently did something similar, and had to have surgery too. I hope that your sister recovers quickly.

Oh Shelly, so sorry about your sister's hand. OUCH!!! I broke my hand a few years ago when I tripped over a piece of plexiglass Ted had put across the entrance into the dining room to keep someone from peeing in there, and just as Moore said, I put my hand down instinctively to break the fall. I hope it wasn't her right hand if she's right handed, or her left if she's a southpaw. That makes life so complicated.

On a light note, the worst part about having a hand in a cast is trying to blow dry your hair over round brushes. It's almost impossible! You either have to go "natural" or go get it done at the hairdresser's.

We don't allow people to pee in our dining room either, KaeEll...

Okay, I'm just a little bit punchy because I CLEANED THE TURTLE TANK; I really do know that it was a canine culprit who was behaving inappropriately in your dining room, and not any of your family or guests.

I have to go shower now.

well it was her right hand...luckily she isn't completely handicapped with her left hand...A few things will be rough though...Like driving, she has the kind of gear shifter thing that is in the center console..ugh. What a fun trip this has turned out to be. I am just grateful that I happened to be down here when it happened or who knows what she would have done.

Just got back from the hospital, and if it wasn't bad enough that she broke her wrist she broke it in Portsmouth which means that the ambulance took her to a hospital in Portsmouth. Not a long drive but with the traffic around here it isn't great either. Now I am left to keep my niece entertained enough that she doesn't think of her mom laying in that hospital bed, I realize now that maybe taking her to the hospital wasn't such a great idea after all....She is a little emotional.
