Well, I had my final interview today, which went splendidly. I got offered the job on the spot. The guy interviewing me even said he wished they could clone me. Of course with the big companies you have to do a drug test. So I went home got the hubby and kids gathered and decided we'd go today even though I have 48 hours to do it I wanted to just get it outta the way.
Well, this is going to be rude, but the cup in which I was supposed to do mys tuff was monstrous and there was a line up to which I had to fill things.... I couldn't do it. They wouldnt' take ANYTHING less. I then found out that I couldn't even leave the office to tell the hubby what was going on. Well, Phoenix's mom was coming by early today ... let's just say I was late for that ... Cody was stuck here alone for a while. I was literally in tears because they proceeded to infrom me that if I couldnt' perform, they were entering me as a positive match for drugs!!!! Which means no job, and I could never apply there again! So finally they reached someone at Comcast who called them back and told them they were in the wrong because I did have the full 48 hours to do it even if I came in already that day. I am seriously telling them about the hell these people put me through. It was terrible. I won't go into details, but one would think that they would have a back up plan. Can they do drug tests with blood? I don't know but it was just plain terrible. so I have to go there again and do it all over again. I think that I'm just going to roll outta bed tomorrow or Friday skip the bathroom break, and go in my pj's and give those butt heads plenty of ... specimen!
I refuse to let lthat taint my day though. I got the job!!!!!!!! I feel a little bad though, because the nice baldish guy who was at the first interview with me didn't get pushed through like I did. So I don't think he got the job. See, after filling out the official application I was called back to enter my data into their system, and when he finished his, he just left and wasn't told yes or no. The other girl who was at the first interview apparently didn't get that either. Well, maybe they'll get lucky and the hr people will think it over and call them in later.
Yeah!! You got the job, as if there had been any doubt!
All this business about testing urine - is that standard? Isn't that an infringement upon human rights? Would you be handling life senstive items in that job?
Oh I feel great Tina. I haven't posted much this week because I've been stressing about a ton of stuff. Most of all the dumb dreg test. Yeah I know I haven't ever done anything, but I had to be there by a certaintime, which conflicted with a million things. Well, we figured it all out and it was *sigh* a good day lol. I do have one additionl thing to give me some worries but it's not so big.
The new job is business casual .. no jeans.. ack! I hae very few dress pants rigth now so I'll have to go shopping and I didn't want to do that until I had lost more weight. I'm down by almost 20 lbs now yay. It is crazy. the weight just melted off once I started babysitting. I didn't really think I had lost much weight until I put on some of my stuff and realized they were too big. Of course logging 3 little ones around will do put anyone through a physical workout. climbing in the back of he van to put Phoenix in is no easy fete. Aiden and Beth are a bit easy because they aren't in thos blasted baby carriers, but getting heavier by the day.
Anywho, we got the coolest new store I think I've mentioned it. Went there yesterday and was so happy they are getting more and moer discounted stuff daily. there's a little oven set we're most likely going to get for Bethany. It's pink and the timer really works and she loves it so much. It's only 29.99 which is actually discounted from the 49.99 at which it was already priced for them. Got the hubby some nice new dress pants in hopes that he'll get the management promotion. If he doesnt' oh well, he needed them anyways. Got the CUTEST new shoes for 3.50. They're even name brand! They're a wedge heel with white canvas ballet style toe and laces that go up the leg! Usually have to go to the mall to find shoes this cute this store has made my day. Also got an adorable new top for myself, some tennies for Bethany which match the cheerleader outfit she HAD to get (eh it was 4.00) and a little pink tee ball bat for her to practice ball with (again 5.00) we had priced all of these things elsewhere and would have had to get each thing little by little but now gees talk about a deal. I feel bad for not getting anythign for Cody, but he's kinda picky about his clothes and the fit so I'll probly bring him down there tomorrow. In addition to all of that we got snacks for the house, a truck load of capri suns, some squeez its and a cute little sweater to go with the dress I had purchased last week. Can you believe it all came to just under 50.00. I LOVE this store.
Hey Tina I had the hugest brain fart until today. Com-ed used to have a place just outside of my hometown. My step dad got a job doing qc for all of Com-ed's places in IL, that's how he ended up meetin my mom. He was out with some of the guys relaxing, and met her while she was celebrating her friend's birthday there.
