So I woke up this morning in a pretty good mood only to discover that once again the sun has went away and left me with rain. I am suppose to have a cook out tomorrow plus the base is having a carnival that Jolene is finally big enough for so hopefully the sun comes back out. On another note all this rain is really good for my flowers.
I just got off the phone a little while ago with the Hilton Gardens here in Groton and I have an interview on Monday. YAH....I would love to be able to have a job less then a week after the Howard Johnsons told me they couldn't give me a job after 4 months of telling me that they would.
Hey Shelly, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and that possible job!
Not much in the way of plans today. My husband is driving down to NC tomorrow to visit our oldest daughter, and to watch a play that her boyfriend is starring in (Axel Magee in Woody Allen's "Don't Drink the Water").
We're really proud of him because it isn't always easy for a theater major to get work in their chosen field! Here are a couple of pictures...
My fingers are crossed for you too, Shelly. Good luck.
Moore, he's cute!
Just stopped in at home to let doggies out for a little pee, then off to tea with my babies, meet Ted there, go shopping for dinner stuff.
I had my hair done and I feel glamorous now, no roots, lol. I met my friend Eva at the hairdressers and we planned a lunch shortly after Mothers' Day. Turns out we have nearly parallel lives. She too is an only child taking care of an elderly parent, has big kids, grandkids, and her daughter is a fan of Mike's and I've seen her at Mike's pub gigs in the neighbourhood. Our kids went to the same private school, we belonged to the same ski club, have many mutual friends, and yet we never really knew that! I always thought of Eva as the lady that seemed to be getting her hair done at the same time as me all these years!
This morning was weird. Ted and Nick both left early, and as I was enjoying a peaceful cup of coffee, there was this HUGE crash from downstairs. I gingerly made my way down to find an entire closet had collapsed. The fax machine was upside down on the floor, crates and archive boxes scattered everywhere and the closet door was wide open. I didn't investigate any further, called Ted. It was time to leave to pick up my mother and Nick's car was blocking me in the driveway. He had apparently taken the van to the clothing show. No key to be found. Grr. After much rummaging, I found what looked like an extra car key, bingo. I was in luck, but very late.
Off for tea now.
Shelly, I caught a couple of minutes of Y&R - looked good. I'll check it out after dinner.
KaeEll, that's very funny about your friend Eva. Who knew??? I think that you deserve to have a peaceful afternoon, after your strange morning, and hope that tea (and all of the accompanying goodies) is lovely...
Loren (the boyfriend) is originally from Vermont. However, he seems to be quite happy, as is our daughter, living where they do in the Raleigh area. He's a very nice young man...
