Friday

Good morning! Another week is almost over and here we are in the middle of May, my favourite month of all. Sometimes I wish I could make time stand still for a while.

This is the usual Friday routine of driving my mother back and forth, and today I'm getting my hair done as well. Some news - Nick announced he is getting a full arm tattoo, and first of June he IS moving into his buddy's condo. It's not so much of a shock now, actually a little bit welcomed as he does keep strange hours and when his friends come and go, Chloe's barking drives us nuts.

Moore, that Weston Flax, HC5 is a no-go. After a week of looking at the board I painted, it's too wishy-washy and flat, too lemony, so I'm back to square one. Another trip to the Benjamin Moore store for more sample bottles, this time for something with more gold in it. It's a good thing the painter can't come until the second week of June! I'd have shot myself if I'd made another paint colour blunder. Oh, I remembered the name of the colour in the den I want painted over - Munroe Bisque. Sounds lovely, non? Not!!

So what's on the agenda for you today?

a full arm tattoo, I would faint!

I was going to hit the outlet mall, but now I have to look into some medical bills. We went with a PPO this year but it has a high deductible. Really sucks. I don't like HMO, but we might have to go to that next year.

My husband wants me to sell the money we have in account for Zach's college to pay these bills. I hate that idea! My husband is not good with money at all, and we end up using up our savings all the time.

Make's me question things.... hmm.gif

Hi everyone. Doesn't sound like any of you have anything fun and exciting to do today. Sadly I don't either. Still looking for a job. Or still waiting to hear about the ones I have applied for.

Other then that I will putz around the house. Have to start cleaning for Mem Weekend, my sister will be here.

Just got done watching Rachael Ray and she had Duff Goldman on her show, he really is a hoot.

The tattoo thing does bother me, but there isn't a thing I can do to change his mind. Nick's always been "edgy". He worked for years at Much Music, part time while at school, then full time for a year after he graduated. He was the webmaster and on television quite a lot, has fan clubs of little girls who think he's just the "hottest dude" ever. So he has this "cool" thing going on. I have to keep telling myself "remember David Beckham" and swallow hard.

My reaction at the time he told me was to ask him how he'd feel about the tattoo when he was 70, and he said he wasn't going to worry about that now. At least he's working in the family business and has plans to finish his MBA in a year, so I should thank my stars he's not a bum. I guess.

You guys with little ones have no idea what it's like yet! Just wait. Just you wait, lol.

Make sure he knows that when he gets older and wants some kind of corporate job he will always have to wear long sleeve shirts.

That's a very good point, Shelly. I think I mentioned that to him, but for a young "hottie", the idea of ever working in a corporate setting is a joke right now. I'll say it again, though.

Nick just left the house to go down to the Queen West area, his old work place, and the location of the main tattoo parlour in town. Ugh. Is today the day?

My brother thought the same thing, now he works in a high end eye glass place in Scottsdale Arizona and while they don't require he wear long sleeve shirts he does it so as not to scare his customers.....can you imagine wearing a long sleeve dress top in Phoenix

FANTASTIC, Shelly! Great job. You should be very proud of yourself. (I'm clapping for you...)

KaeEll, I'm sorry that you have to revisit the wall color. It's a real pain to try to get just that right color, isn't it? However, it IS a good thing that you're rethinking it now rather than later.

As far as the tatoo is concerned, our youngest got a small one two years ago when she was out looking at colleges in Arizona. SHE WAS WITH HER FATHER!!! It's a very small (tasteful???) cactus on an inside ankle, and it could be covered with makeup if necessary.

The TRAGIC part to this whole story is that my HUSBAND decided to get one too!!! (Can anyone spell "regression"???) The guy whose picture I posted a week or two ago, the one who's smiling with the White House in the background, has a Kokopelli tatooed on his upper right arm.

Do not even ASK about my feelings on this issue...

I guess I am an odd ball. I have a lot of tattoos. But on the plus side every single one of them can be covered with clothing.

Tina here is a pic of a kokapelli

And thanks everyone for the congrats. I am so happy to be done with this level of my education. Not sure when or if I will continue but for now I am done.

Ha, that came out really big

Oh, THANKS for that MASSIVE representation of kokopelli, Shelly! Not that I don't get to see this image often enough...

My husband LOVES the southwest, and I suppose it doesn't hurt that kokopelli represents male fertility, and is sometimes depicted with a huge phallus. As I said...regression!

KaeEll, there just aren't words. This is something that he not only NEVER would have considered doing years ago, but was an idea that he probably would have ridiculed if someone had ever suggested to him that he do it. The damned thing is also about five times larger than I could have lived with otherwise which means that there's a whole lot of turquoise involved.

Of course, all three of our kids think that this is WAY cool...

I never should have let him go off into the Arizona desert unsupervised!

I had thought about a tattoo years ago, but never could decide on something I would want to live with forever....
