The first half was all about Heather and Adam planning an evening swim at the ranch - she kept saying it wasn't a good idea, he saying "oh, let's". Adam's getting in really deep with her, can see he's falling in love.
There was a bit with Amber and Adrian running into Colleen at the coffee house, awkward moment, but again a little omen that Amber and Adrian might hook up as more than just buddies with breaking hearts?
David leaves Nikki for "her own good" and Victor sees but doesn't overhear it. Nikki and Nick later lie to Victor saying David had a business trip but Victor doesn't buy it - on the 4th of July?? Victoria's pissed off with her husband, JT, for investigating David without telling her.
Colleen's new friend (hunky guy) stops by to take her out clubbing.
Adrian tells Sabrina he's been in touch with a French professor of hers, and her face darkens. So far, though, the professor is a big fan of hers.
Sabrina and Victoria get along fairly well during discussions on the gala. Victoria cuts off Sabrina before she has a chance to tell her about her pregnancy.
Victor visits Nick at the mag loft, says he knows something is going on with Nikki, that she is deeply upset about something, that David Chow is a dangerous man, he feels it in his bones. Good little scene.
Paul joins Nikki for dinner - an unexpected surprise. He tells her he's sorry she's hurting, but not the least sorry David is out of her life.
Good scene with Adam and Heather after their swim as they discuss how they can ever really know someone, in reference to Hope and Victor. They start making love, decide to take it upstairs to Adam's bedroom, unaware that Sabrina and Victor are in the living room.
Amber's bummed that even though Jana and Phyllis are getting messages from Daniel and Kevin, she hasn't heard a peep in ages.
More Amber and Adrian getting along really well, both miserable about their love lives.
Phyllis intentionally leaves a picture on her computer of Daniel having a ball with some girl he's partying with in London. Amber sees it. Gasp.
Victor reads Adam the riot act about Heather - she is not welcome in this house. Poor Adam. (The guy is turning out to be quite a good actor!)
JT finally apologises to Victoria about keeping his secret investigation of Chow from her, and they make up. He promises to keep her informed from now on.
As Nikki and Paul hug goodbye in CL, David walks in and sees them.
Next:
Amber and Adrian get cozy on his sofa.
At the 4th of July party, Lauren notices a rock on Gloria's hand, asks her what's that on her finger. Gloria says they were going to wait until the fireworks.... Funny.
Adam takes Heather to the pool party. He tells Victor he takes orders at work and this isn't work. Victor mumbles something to him, something about his room.
No, I certainly hope NOT. Paul and Nikki are just good old friends and if they did make them romantic again, it would be extremely cheesy, not like a Y&R story at all. That's something they'd do at ABC, not Y&R, lol.
Paul's a guy in a white hat, non? He'd know far better than to swoop in on a broken-hearted woman for anything other than friendship and a shoulder. On this soap, characters stay true to how they've been written. They tend not to bounce all over the map as they have been known to do on OLTL. That's a viewer-loyalty breaker, and this team knows that. (At least I hope they do. They've always stayed true to character in the past, so why change now?)
I'm enjoying Adam standing up to Victor too! I'm surprised how much I've grown to LIKE him. And I really like his romance with Heather. I wonder if Victor threatened to kick Adam out of the ranch for taking Heather there after his decree that she wasn't welcome. I couldn't catch what he said in the preview and I tried to listen several times.
Another thing I liked today was the way Sabrina's real character is starting to poke through in little ways. She's a real opportunist, and when she saw Victoria was quite upset after her disagreement with JT (in the coffee house) she scuttled over to her in a flash, not out of concern, but so that she could possibly take advantage of the situation and get close to her again. It was subtle, but it was there. Sabrina's a master at quickly adapting a conversation to her best advantage. You'll see what I mean in that scene. She's done it before, too. She'll head into a conversation with one motive, and the second she realises it's not going to work, she shifts gears really smoothly. She did that today with Victoria. But the beauty is that she can't get away with it with Nikki.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the scene with Sabrina and Nikki when Sabrina was convinced that Nikki not doing the gala was all about Sabrina. I thought Sabrina had a lot of gall to say that the family is hers now too.
And I agree with you about Paul, just wish they would give him a good woman already..and not one who is leaving
Oh, me too!! That had to be one of my all time favourite scenes in ages. Nikki was just annoyed at the nuisance of Sabrina's visit, not the least bothered by Victor's dalliance with her. And there was that opportunistic little upstart trying to grandstand the grand dam of them all. So funny. Sabrina wasn't even aware of what an idiot she was making of herself. Talk about self-involved and over-confident. *snort*
LOL! Right, the Victor and Nikki dance. Couldn't happen to a nicer gal.
I really want Adrian to uncover something really juicy about Sabrina, Jack learns it, blows Sabrina out of the water, gets the last laugh as old Victor licks his wounds and looks like a fool. Wouldn't that be great!? I'd LOVE for Jack to get one last kick at the Victor can. Isn't it about time?
